Big Dog Sports Cafe — Restaurant in North Mankato

Great place for lunch. They have daily specials like pastas like my favorite the southwest chicken, or hot sandwiches such as their french dip. It's also a great place for an after work gathering. The selection of beers is decent and the prices are cheap! There is seating of all types and plenty of TV's for catching a game. One of the best features is the free popcorn machine that they keep fresh with movie theater style popcorn served up in Big Dog style dog food bowls! It can get a bit busy after softball is out from Caswell park during the warmer months but the service is always friendly and fast. This local bar has been a part of the North Mankato, Commerce Drive community for many years and I happy to see it continue to this day. I’ve been coming here multiple times a month to eat for years and I’ve never had a problem until tonight. I found a dark brown coarse hair in my ranch dressing, and there is 0% chance it was my own hair. I noticed it right as my server was approaching the table and she witnessed the entire ordeal. I wasn’t expecting to walk out without paying for anything, but because I work in hospitality, I assumed they would make some kind of effort to make it right. I was wrong. All I got, in addition to my full priced meal, was an “I’m sorry”. I had to hand her the hairy ranch cup and told her to show management, since she was not concerned at all over what just happened. Food is okay, decent sports bar atmosphere. Been there more than 5 times now. First time was the best great server. Halfway thru the vikings game her shift ended. Getting a refill on soda or water was impossible, asked twice waited almost 10 mins each time before asking again then someone at my table got annoyed. Other server finally grabbed the glass and gave tons of attitude. Everytime I go back I see her and its the same sour attitude. We will spend our money elsewhere poor service ruins great food! And this good wasn't even 4 star quality to begin with. WONT BE...
