I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, about 7-8 years old. Grew up right around the corner. Had a crappy experience today. I come from Fort Lauderdale every now and then and come get food to surprise my mother in NMB. Always brings back memories to my childhood. Big order, always spend more than $50 here. Food is not the same, quality either. Prices have sky rocketed. My tostada was burnt today and empanadas tasted as if they were made yesterday. Not fresh and these are golden here, or at least use to be. Service has not been the best as it was back then, the last few times I was here. Not sure if the same Chef is there but he was amazing and knows my family. Dayana, you could have been a bit courteous to my aunt who had to drive back 15 minutes for me to get food you forgot to include in my order. I would have driven back myself but just had already driven an hour to get to Miami to spend time with my mother. Spent $88 and tipped you $7 on top of gratuity automatically added. Very disappointed. I don’t know if I’d...
Read moreHaving recently moved to NoMi I had driven by the old style open Latin window restaurant before and what caught my eye was that there were always people outside. I was seeking a local dive for my daily dosage of Cuban coffee, and boy was I thrilled when, upon arriving , I saw that Cafe Bustelo sticker on their giant espresso coffee machine. Second promising sign, they still serve you the coffee in a tasita, upon request of course as styrofoam colada cups have become a downer in this town, and thirdly....el cafe esta BUENISIMO!! To complete the experience, the staff is super friendly, eager to help and there´s always something going on in the counter...the restaurant has been in business for over twenty years, a testament to the owners and the community that supports it. The Daily Menu, on display outside is as diverse as it´s neighborhood, not only in Latin food (Cuban, Dominican and Puerto Rican plates) but also it´s seafood varieties. I rate this a worthy neighborhood institution in North Miami!...
Read moreI live near this Cafe and at times I would stop by for some pastries. There is one older woman there, she’s been working there for a while. Just nasty attitude. I literally just left there. I was waiting to place an order; She comes to punch in an order or the computer. No greeting or nothing. Someone comes after me and just shouts their order, she acknowledges them. While she’s making their coffee, I politely tell her, I have not ordered yet… to which she answer “ Yes, I know.” Now I was getting annoyed. So you know I didn’t order and you take someone else's order before me. I still waited. After she cashed that customer out, she then walked away. So I in return went to my car. She casually answers a call right away and didn’t bother to look up or try to not lose a long time customer. This is the 2nd time something like this is happen. There are plenty other cafes in the area. I visited this one specifically because the owners were always cool and polite. It’s no longer worth...
