Moving here from Raleigh, I was super excited to finally hear of a tapas place in Myrtle. The interior was beautiful and the ambiance was romantic (Would suggest changing the music though, it gave off hotel lobby/elevator vibes). Service was also top notch.
The menu appears to cover all of the bases and the presentation of each dish was beautiful. Unfortunately, there were a few misses with the food.
—I’m not sure what syrups are used but the Berry Basil Bubbly cocktail tasted like bubble gum. There was no blackberry or basil flavor. We opted for a bottle of champagne and it was perfectly chilled. -The pistachio espresso martini was absolutely perfect -Queso Fundido: There were way too many pork rinds for the amount of queso. The queso lacked flavor and you couldn’t tell chorizo was even present. The pork rinds were excellent. -Picadillo: The picadillo was so flavorful and delightful, but the plantains that accompanied it were way overcooked and needed salt. -Salt & Pepper Chicken: I think they must have had an off night with the fryer being too high. Similar to the plantains, the chicken was way overcooked and bland. There was no sauce or seasoning. I was very excited by the kimchi rice but there was no kimchi or kimchi flavor to be found. -Shrimp tempura: The shrimp is massive and fresh without the batter. I wouldn’t consider this tempura. The batter was like eating funnel cake at the state fair. I would opt for a non fried shrimp dish next time. The only thing you could taste in the hibachi vegetables was sesame oil. Way too much. -The star of the show was the special of the night, the skirt steak. It was the most flavorful and tender skirt steak we’ve ever had.
I think with the restaurant being relatively new there are some improvements to be made but I would return for an espresso martini and the...
Read moreLove this place! The pistachio espresso martini was top notch! WOW! Kudos to the bartender for excellent martini and great friendly attitude!! The Uptown was just OK. Really didn’t taste the fruit They had a special of scallops and pork belly with rice that was to die for and a large dish. We recommended they make that a permanent dish as it is so great! The noodles with tomato sauce and the shrimp and chorizo was equally outstanding!!!
The service is excellent! I wish I remembered her name as she was so very kind and very knowledgeable of the dishes! She refilled our water without us even asking!
The atmosphere is very romantic and classy!
BE sure to make a reservation and specifically ask for a table. If you don’t you may be placed at the sofas and chairs with only a coffee table and some of the dishes would be hard to eat that way. It looks nice but is...
Read moreHonestly there aren't alot of places I have reviewed, mostly because they are just not that memorable or special. THIS RESTAURANT however absolutely is! From the moment you walk in it gets your attention. The decor, the furnishings, everything is elegant and beautiful, yet not pretentious or stuffy at all. Very welcoming! They have tables and also big comfortable couches to dine from which we did, it was so relaxing and fun. Gracie was our amazing server. Knowledgeable, friendly and funny, she made our night and we were there awhile! I had a lemon drop martini to die for. The drink and wine list was impressive and reasonably priced. The tapas menu and cheese board was off the charts, very diverse. The food was delicious and portioned well. Even the bathroom was beautiful and had amazing photos. I will definitely be back....
