HAD TO CALL COPS ON MANAGER!!!! My family and I have been coming to North Myrtle Beach for over 20 years and have been coming to the candy store since it opened and have always had a wonderful time but last night Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience. Terrible is actually not the word to express what my family and I went through.. we had a coupon book for a free scoop of ice cream, and the gentleman running the cash register told my husband and I since we had over 2 pounds of candy we could get two free scoops of ice cream. He went ahead and gave our children which we had two with us, each a free scoop of ice cream, which made two free scoops of ice cream with the 2 pounds of candy which the coupon states. . The manager female comes out from the back and comes over looks at the cash register and you could tell that she was already in a bad mood but she looks at her worker in front of everybody and tells him to come there and says to him did you tell them they could get a two scoops of ice cream with 2 pounds of candy and he told her yes because they got 2 pounds of candy. She talked to him so ugly in front of everybody I felt so sorry for him. My kids already were eating the ice cream and she looked at me and said we needed to give the ice cream back and I looked at her and said they’re already eating the ice cream and she says well you need to pay for it and I said your worker told us we could get two scoops of ice cream because we got over 2 pounds of candy and she got very ugly with us when I told her I was not paying for the ice cream because her worker gave it to my children and they were almost finished with the ice cream. She started screaming at me in front of everybody and telling me and my entire family to get out of her store, she made my child start screaming. My child was scared to death. I will have to take my child to talk with someone when we get home we left the store she followed us out of the store, coming toward us as we were going toward our car and my husband had to step in front of her. We had to end up calling the law on this manager while she stood in the parking lot screaming thank God we have a video of this. We will be contacting an attorney when we get home and needless to say we will never go into that ice cream candy store again. This woman needs to be fired. Number one she shouldn’t be a manager because of how she talks to her workers in front of customers , never in 49 years have I ever had a manager...
Read moreCute store. Lots of different candy to choose from. They have some unique choices along with the traditional candy such as M&M's and Reese's. They also have lots of different flavors of ice cream with some yummy cone choices. It was a hard decision between the cookie cones (chocolate cookie and chocolate chip cookie) and the huge waffle cones rolled in white and milk chocolate, different candy and cookie pieces. I went with the waffle cone with white chocolate and M&M's and my daughter got the one with white chocolate and Oreo cookie pieces. They were sweet and rich but yummy! We picked out a variety of candy and put in the ziplock bags they provide. They weigh your bag at checkout and their prices are somewhat high for the little amount of candy that you get. Also, I am curious to know if they subtract the weight of the bag from the total weight. They are nice, thick little bags that definitely add a good amount of weight on and when you're paying $12.95 per pound, you don't wanna pay for the bag. But overall it's a cute candy store that the kids will enjoy looking around in and picking out different candies to fill...
Read moreLooks nice from the outside. Inside there is a variety of items for tourists. Stick with the non-edible items if you go to this store. The loose candy is stale. The store does not have allergens listed for any of their products. This was a problem for three of our party. When we asked the staff what allergens were in the ice cream, they did not know. We were concerned there might have been nuts in several of the options. This was very disheartening to our younger family members. We were all excited about getting ice cream and candies. I don't blame the staff for not knowing because this is a result of management not doing a good job with their business. Nowhere were ingredients posted that the staff could reference. This could be easily resolved if the owners/managers would create a list of ingredients for the staff to review when inquiries were made. When we got back to our condo we were sampling all of our selection of candies and realized that they were all nasty tasting because they were not fresh; very stale.
