Wing Zone — Restaurant in North Myrtle Beach

First visit since converted from Taco Bell. Counter serve, self serve drinks & seating for about 16. Shares building with Shell convenience store. Dining area clean, several napkin holders empty. I arrived on a Thursday about 11:45, there were 3 people seated obviously waiting for orders. Only saw one person who was taking orders, answering phone, preparing food, serving food & bussing tables. My order taken after 5 to 8 minutes-NP-and took a seat while food prepared. Multiple flavor choices of wings, plus burgers and other sandwiches available. My 8 Buffalo Garlic wings were ready in about 5 minutes. Sauce was hot sauce (Franks I think) diluted with butter like product, no garlic, no celery or carrots & a small plastic container of blue cheese dressing. No utensils, condiments or napkins. Food was hot but obviously cooked previously. The employee present was stretched between duties, I understand but I noticed he was handling cash making change and going directly back to preparing food w/o gloves. I wasn’t comfortable with that. This placed used to be really good. Unfortunately it has fallen through the cracks. Drove 40 minutes to eat here and was disappointed. I wanted to order while I was driving there so I didn't have to wait but was told I had to make payment before they would cook it? Huh?? Driving down the road and you want me to get out my card and read it off. No way. So ended up parking outside and ordering online. They no longer carry fried pickles which was a major hit for us. Too bad. We decided to go inside to use the restroom and eat since we were already here. Still had to wait on our food. There were 2 behind the counter and they barely spoke and spent the majority of time going to the bathroom and smoking outside. The inside wasn't very clean. My daughter's grilled cheese was dripping with grease and she barely ate it. My wings were okay but nothing like they used to be. Some were over cooked and tasted like they had been sitting there for awhile. Sadly we won't be coming back. This was my favorite place and we loved the Charlotte location. My son and I stopped in because he wanted wings and I had never been there. Considering the fact that it was NOT busy, it took a long time for our food to get ready. I ate my 6 , along with some of his fries. He ate less than half of his so that he could have plenty for lunch the next day. We both woke up the next day feeling very nauseated, so he didn’t eat the rest of them. I was too busy to call yesterday, so I just called and spoke to someone who claimed to be the manager. He kept coming up with every reason that it couldn’t be the food we got from there… but everyone knows how chicken is.. especially if they touched raw chicken and then the rest of our food without washing their hands… or maybe it wasn’t stopped properly. Even though he was polite, he didn’t offer and refused to give even a partial refund or comp a future meal. 🤬🥴🤢 Next time, we’ll just go to Buffalo Wild Wings like...
