The first experience I had at OHASHI was about 3 years ago with some friends who raved about it; I can’t lie, I had low expectations upon arriving & seeing that it’s a rather small restaurant in a strip mall but I was pleasantly surprised! It’s quite quaint, the atmosphere could only be improved with better lighting & appropriate music. The Eastern decor is done tastefully, & is aesthetically pleasing! Tonight was my second time dining here, for my Birthday dinner; kudos to my fiancé for Googling: “Places to eat, hidden gems, North Olmsted” !! The service was perfect; the Host sat us & thanked me for letting him know we had a reservation, the Server was at our table probably 3 times, (no more than necessary) & every time, he was quick, efficient, & friendly!! Towards the end of our dinner the Host anticipated we would need a box & provided us with one. Last but most certainly not least the food is outstanding! The quality of the fish & sushi is legitimately 100%, the care & love put into making the sushi is evident, & the quantity is plentiful!! Unexpectedly refreshing, delightful, & scrumptious! Definitely...
Read moreEver since trying sushi for the first time in my late teens, I have made it a point to explore every purveyor of it I possibly can. In all my travels I have never experienced higher quality or better tasting nigiri. Somehow, Ohashi has stayed under my radar for years... I tried it several months ago, and was immediately floored by the overall quality of the various dishes. I have had good nigiri.. I have had great nigiri.. Now I have had Ohashi nigiri.. The quality, portion, and presentation are second to none. Something about the rice is different (better) than any nigiri I have previously enjoyed. I thought maybe it was just me, but everyone I have taken there agrees... Whatever magic goes into the sushi is rare (maybe unique). I've never been to Japan, but can't help feeling that this stuff is the real deal.. Not fusion, not groundbreaking, just the way that sushi is supposed to taste. Tremendous food from tremendous people. Keep up the good work, PLEASE, because I can't get nigiri this good from anywhere else...
Read moreGreat place to eat. A little pricey, but sushi always seems to be a bit expensive. For reference, the photo attached was about a $50 bill for two. We were both full at the end and the food was good. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was nice. Our waiter forgot to bring out an appetizer, we asked him about and just had the app taken off of the bill since we figured the food would completely fill us up. He very politely obliged, it looked like he just forgot or didn't see it. In his defense, the self order ticket has a lot on it, so the writing is pretty small and a pencilled in box might be hard to miss. I'd suggest either coloring the box in w/ the quantity next to it (outside of the quantity box) or having a completely different color to pencil in the quantity (bold print red sharpie = hard to miss b/c of the vibrant colors). I don't know, pencils are easy to replace, sharpie markers might walk away from the restaurant (maybe kids coloring markers and take out the colors that are hard to see/soft ones like...
