This is the new concept from the owners of one of my favorite local Mexican restaurants, Luchita's, which was an iconic Cleveland staple. Very laid-back and casual spot to grab a quick bite and cold margarita. Steady crowd flowed through, so it was busy but not overcrowded. The food was both authentic, flavorful and fantastic. Service was spot-on, as it always is in any of their establishments. This was my first visit with a few friends, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be on our list of places to go.
Update 12/27/2024: My son got a job at an auto dealership down the street. He tried Cilantro at my suggestion, and now raves about the flavor, quality, portions, and value non-stop. So much so, that I had to drive out and get my fix. We frequent Mexico often, and this is in line with the "off the beaten path" gems locals would go and most tourists would never know. Today I opted for a Barbara torta. It was huge and the flavor was AMAZING! Staff and service was on-point as always. Everyone absolutely loved their meals and experience. Excellent all the way around. Now I just have to talk them into putting their next location closer to me. Great spot, definitely worth visiting if you...
Read moreAfter ordering thru door dash I received my order which looked fantastic but one MAJOR issue was that I found a tape worm yes a tape worm in my Queso. I reached out to the restaurant to let them know but had a major communication issue where the people didn't speak English and had to get someone who tried. I hate to leave this type of review but I had to throw out over 40 bucks worth of food and was sick to my stomach after the thought of possibly eating tape worm eggs or possibly another tape worm. I sure hope they clean up the way they either cook food or where they order the food from. Attached is what I found . Note: To the owner or whoever replied to this review!! This was NO onion. It WAS a tape worm. Onions don't move or curl up when u cut into them. I'm sorry to leave this kind of review but tape worms are very dangerous and it needs to be addressed properly. Again this was NO onion please dont insult my intelligence trying to make believe it's other then what it was! If you look closely to the pics attached you will see the ridges on the worm and the flat head and skinny tail. As I said it's...
Read moreFirst time at any of Cilantro Taqueria locations, loved it! I had (2) al Pastor tacos, (1) chorizo taco & (1) lengua taco - all on flour tortillas. The al Pastor was excellent, the chorizo very good & the lengua good as well. All 3 options were full of flavor. Sometimes lengua can have a different texture depending on how it's cooked, these were great in flavor & texture. I like a good Mexican taco, so I had all four with cilantro, diced onions, the hottest sauce they had and some cheese on each (breaking with Mexican trad'l tacos). Squeezed some fresh cut lime provided and you've got some of the best authentic Mexican tacos in the CLE area. Portions were generous, so after eating all four, I left stuffed. My wife opted for the chicken torta with guac, she loved her food as well. Service was good (sort of a Chipotle style in that you stand in line and select the options you want) and friendly. The place was clean and the vibe was cool without trying hard to be trendy. Prices were fair, especially when you consider the taste & generous portions of food you...
