I will start this review with the fact that I really like the pizza here. I had such a bad experience with customer service, that I don't think I will ever order again. We put our order in online through Zio's own website at 5:30pm. The confirmation email that I got said It should arrive by 6:30. By 7, we still hadn't gotten it, so my husband called to check the status. He was told that it was the next order to go out and should arrive in 20-25 minutes (for pizza that was already cooked?). At 7:30, it still had not arrived. I called and asked and was told that it was out for delivery, they were sorry that it was taking so long. At 7:45, we still had not seen the delivery driver. I called to cancel the order and get a refund because I was sure that my pizza was cold. I was told that it wouldn't be cold that it was just out of the oven (then how could it have been next to go out at 7?) but I told her that I would not accept the pizza because I wanted a refund. When the driver arrived, I apologized for not accepting the delivery, but I felt like we had been lied to about when our order would arrive and whether or not it was actually cooked when we had been expecting it. If you're going to have an online ordering system, telling paying customers that they are better off calling in isn't using it very efficiently. It took about 1.5 hours to get here, because the delivery person was given the wrong address (even though I repeated it 3 times on the phone). So, they literally went door-to-door on my street to find out who ordered it. They had my phone number, so it's beyond me why didn't they didn't think to try that instead. Maybe the driver forgot to pay his cell phone bill?
When it finally arrived, I found that they charged me for but didn't deliver the sauce. Also, the Calzone was of course cold after its little tour of the neighborhood, and on top of that badly burned around the edges.
Not sure what has happened to this business, maybe new management or new cooks who have no idea what they're doing (the delivery person certainly didn't). Being originally from NY, I'm very picky about Italian food, and they used to be surprisingly good for an Italian restaurant located in FL. Read moreOn November the 5th 2024 I ordered take out. When I arrived a few minutes after the time they gave me I still had to wait to get my order. Mind you they were really busy. They handed me my order which was a couple of pizzas, salads and a fried ravioli dinner. It was all bagged and boxed for me. Well when I got home and opened the bags I had everything but the fried ravioli. I called to tell them and asked for a refund on the ravioli because I was not diving back up there. They said ok and they would have the manager call the Company they use for their online orders called slice to refund the money. A couple of days went by I waited no refund I called again and the lady I spoke to said she was gonna go call Slice to have it refunded now it’s been a couple of days later again and I still haven’t received my refund so now I’m leaving this review to warn everybody who orders from them Online that if they forget your order, you might not get a refund. It’s just amazing to me that they use this slice payment service and it’s a struggle for them to refund peoples money other than that...
