I have been to this place 2 times and each time I have, my experience have been nothing but horrible. The first time I have went, the owner, the blonde older lady was there, I came in 20 minutes before closing and her whole attitude was just not it. I understand that you donāt like when people come in minutes before closing but you donāt need to be disrespectful and give me nasty looks nor roll your eyes and mumble under your breath- (Bad service). The second time wasnāt too bad, but when I walked in, the same lady is sitting in a rocking chair with a vape on the table. Iām not against vaping but I think itās unprofessional to have it out especially when you are 2 feet away from a child, either go out side or head to the back where no one can see you.(itās also unsanitary) but when she saw us, she got up and looked annoy that we even stepped foot into her ice cream shop. One last thing, I just donāt get why the kids Ice cream is so expensive, you only get 1 and a half scoops of ice cream for 4.92. Which you could head to the dollar store and get a full bin of ice cream for the same price. I say lower the prices of some of the desserts, change your attitude or you will be losing customers and get new staff who are friendly and make the experience better for all. I had the husband ring me up when I placed an order and he kept having to talk to his wife for the answers about the questions I was asking. The young girl who asked me what I wanted asked if I wanted my ice cream in a cup since I had several ice creams cones to take outside since obvious they are easier to carry wouldn't melt. They charged .50 cents for each cup i had and saw no price listed anywhere about charging extra for small cups to go. I questioned the husband why my total was higher then it should be and did not seem correct after paying. The husband couldn't explain it so after waiting and waiting for the husband to finally call the wife she broke it down since the receipt is not itemzied. Unfortunately, the wife was sassy, super rude, and just didnt care at all about the customer service when I had questioned her since the amount did not add correctly. It was a severely disappointing taking out of my time to even set foot in this place and told my family instead to go to a better ice cream shop. Overall, the ice cream wasn't as great as it should be and was served little portions. I might as well ran across the street to get publix ice cream. Not worth for the lack of customer service from these folks and quality of ice...

While I wasn't blown away by the shaved ice I had there, I wouldn't have gone so far as to write a scathing review of The Shiver Shack had it not been for the rude reply I got from them via email. After stopping by, I received an email survey about my experience. Since they asked, I thought they genuinely wanted to know how their customers viewed their product and overall experience. I gave it a low rating and checked boxes that corresponded with reasons akin to quality and wait time. The survey also provided a spot for comments, so I noted the price was expensive for what you get and that I didn't plan on returning. I received a reply from them that said, "well Thank God for that." That's some reaction from a business owner who is actively seeking opinions about their product/business and very telling about how they feel about their customers and local community. I know a lot of people who choose to dine at locally owned establishments like to support the ones who treat their customers and employees well... and skip the ones who don't, so...
