Ok, so let’s establish going into this that it is a buffet and you can't expect high class cuisine...
That being said, "flavorless" would be the highest mark I could give any item in this establishment.
The "Sweet & Sour Chicken" was incredibly bland, so much so that I would venture that there was not even the mildest seasoning (salt) added to cooking process. The "Coconut Shrimp" was soaked, not tossed, in a sauce that by all appearances looks like the sauce used on similar dishes at other such establishments; however, when tasted there was a hint of what I would describe as turpentine and chlorine. The taste was so foul I was forced to spit out the item into a napkin. The "Sesame Chicken" was a unique experience in that on contact with the mouth it sucks 90% of the moisture out of your mouth and adheres itself to your tongue like quick-drying cement. Thank God for Dr. Pepper as it broke down those cement like bonds and freed my mouth from its Sesame Chicken prison.
Of special note is the "Mongolian Grill" which is a common place, but potentially wonderful, feature to many Asian themed restaurants. It should be noted that the customer can create a terrible product on a Mongolian grill depending on what items he or she attempts to combine. That being said, I have substantial experience dinging at Mongolian grills and went with a simple beef and vegetable combination with the vaguely named Mongolian sauce. The results were atrocious; I could not finish a single bowl for the lack of flavor. I commented to my wife that the most amazing thing had happened; this establishment had turned something (a bowl of commonly used ingredients) into nothing (based on the resulting flavor profile)!
The young man attending the sushi bar showed technique in his rolls and I blame the flavorless result on poor ingredients.
The crowning moment of the evening was the "Lemon Cake" on the desert bar which it appeared was the same commonly seen cake sold at your local Albertsons / Kroger / Walmart. The taste and texture was exactly the same as those mass produced by the above merchants and the plastic tray underneath the cake seems to support my hypothesis.
Over all, I would say that eating at this establishment might prevent death by starvation... but the alternative might not be the worst option considering everything...
Read moreJust save yourself and make the right decision to spend your money anywhere other than here. Asian King buffet just a mile away actually has food that is fresh, cooked well, warm, and delicious. Any place is better than this place, eating from a dumpster would be an improvement. The management here is atrocious. If you do gamble with your health and eat (I would use other words , but wont) here, beware of a few terrible disgusting conditions. Contaminants in the food, the food not be warmed at the right temperature, old food from previous day that wasn't eaten or properly stored. The taste is masked by over spicing everything. Our bill was sent to be corrected 3 times. We were a party of 3, the first bill wanted to charge us for the wrong amount, the second time it came back changed and wrong. I talked with the supervisor ( let's just say I tried anyways), it escalated to the manager. I honestly don't know how or why he is working there. I have given this place a try because I didn't check out other reviews before, I am ashamed of myself for spending money here. I am truly sorry that I unknowingly subjected my sons to this horror. Yes, I paid the bill, thankfully I can make the choice of not having to repeat this mistake. I gave them multiple chances to at least fix the bill, but I was unsuccessful in communicating what should have been fixing simple mistake. Beware of this place. At least check your bill. Anyone that has given this place anything other than one star has way lower expectations for run of the mill bland troughs than i do. There are places in the area that have fresh food, cooked well, clean restrooms, adequately priced and offer a well rewarding good experience. . Its just, well , this place, is not in that category. I don't usually post negative reviews on this magnitude, but this trough caused me to provide my input. If I help one person , than I can at least recover some good from this true...
Read moreI wish I could give no stars at all! Horrible experience! Literally, I hope they close this place down! Came to eat with my parents and younger child. We got seated everything was fine & went for our food. We all sat back down & my mom decided to get up again to get something and when she looked down she yelled because there was a dead RAT next to her and my dad on the floor! Mind you it was not there when we got seated at the beginning!! My mom was going to take a picture & the manager already had the sweep & dust pan removing it from the floor. The owner/manager whatever he was kept saying it's ok that the pest control had sprayed & that the animals and bugs come to the light to die! We didn't even last 20 minutes there! My little one saw it & was disgusted, now imagine us! So we didn't even get to eat. & we got up to leave & the manager says we have to pay for our food after we didn't even get to eat because of a Rat being next to us! He argued with us saying its ok that he had his certificate of proof from the pest control but that still is not okay that a random dead Rat comes out of nowhere when it wasnt there in the first place! He said it happens and it's ok that it was already dead. We didn't want to pay because we didn't get to eat & he said he would call the cops & we told him we could call as well to tell them there's dead rats randomly popping out in a place that's supposed to be sanitary and clean. DO NOT EAT THERE! They think it's okay to see dead animals in the dining area...
