Weāve been going here for years and always loved it and looked forward to going. Tonight changed that forever.
The place was nearly empty but our server was in a huge āorder and get out ā type of hurry, which was off-putting from the start. Staff (and management) were of an āi dont careā mindset and didnāt appear to be the owners or people weāve all seen over the years.
Hubby ordered the taco dinner (shredded chicken.. neither of us like their ground beef). He said the chicken was bland and unseasoned but edible. I ordered the Durango plate.. Chicken, cheese enchiladas, aā¦what they call a tostada but was a tiny taco salad (tiny flour tortilla shell with a bit of gr beef a barely visible bit of cheese and a huge pile of chopped tomatoes. And a cheese chili rellano with chili sauce. The enchiladas were nice. The tostada thing and half the enchiladas came home for hubbys lunch tomorrow. The rellano was THE MOST DISGUSTING item I have ever considered putting in my mouthā¦literally!! I thought I just needed a sharper knifeā¦NOPE!!.. spit it out (couldnāt begin to chew it) and demanded a plate to scrape it into and send away. It was OLD, hard, like eating an old sock. I was offered an extra taco or enchilada but at this point, I wanted no more of their food. I truly was grossed out.
No discount, just an offer of more lackluster food. PASS!!
NOW, pay attention, if you plan to use a debit or credit card, there is now an additional charge!! We came prepared to pay cash.
Sadly, itāll be Taco Bell from now on(hahaha) at least we know what weāre in for and wonāt spend $50!!!
Now on the hunt for a new Mexican food place, and have to go tell co workers āmy bad, save your moneyā!
Update: Hubs said give them another try. Donāt know what changed but 100%...

The Mrs was in the mood for Mexican food for date-night, and the other places we had tried were ok, but not great. We decided to try this place. So glad we did!
She ordered a large margarita. It was made with quality tequila, so it wasn't harsh, and had a great flavor.
The chips and salsa were great. The salsa was hotter than most other places, but the flavor was so good the Mrs didn't mind the extra heat.
The appetizer we ordered, Queso Fundido had a production hitch, so it wasn't ready till after the main courses arrived. The manager apologized graciously. It was all good, though.
The Mrs got The Durango. She raved about the sour cream sauce. Said it was the best sour cream sauce she had ever had. She has never liked chili relleno before, but this one, she loved. Said she would definitely have it again. Everything was excellent. Even the rice and beans had a rich flavor.
I ordered the combo beef-chicken fajitas. The flavor was, again, excellent. I was surprised it wasn't served with any cheese or sour cream... just some guac and fresh pico de galla on the side. But once I tasted the fajitas, I didn't miss the cheese or sour cream.
The appetizer, the queso fundido was worth the wait. We had ours with chicken. So good!
We couldn't finish everything, so we brought about 1/2 of the queso and the beans and rice home. We mad burritos out of it for lunch the next day, and it was all still amazing.
Oh, I almost forgot... our server asked if we needed any extra flour tortillas. We did ask for one extra order. He happily brought them at no extra charge.
I foresee making this our regular...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was in the area and curious about what this place would be like. It was encouraging until it wasn't, but then made right. It was still early and the restaurant wasn't busy yet. I started with sweet tea, chips and salsa served warm. Looking over the menu, I was wanting a stuffed Chile Relleno. My server, Ruben, suggested the Durango as it includes the Relleno with a Cheese and a Chicken Enchilada, plus a tostada. While my plate was being prepared, I enjoyed the thin chips and warm salsa. My sweet tea never git lower than half full without Ruben refilling it. Once my dinner was served, I was enjoyed eating the enchiladas, rice, and beans. I then turned my plate around to dig into the Relleno. As soon as I cut open Relleno, there was a peculiar smell. I proceeded to try the first bite and immediately knew something was spoiled. That completely killed my appetite. I brought it to the attention of Ruben who tried assure me that everything was fresh but my taste buds knew differently. Soon the manager came to ask me what I thought was wrong and I explained that there was something rancid about it. All said and done, they took my plate to the back and when I received my bill, it was reduced by 50%. The service was great and with exception of the Relleno, the food was too. Unfortunately, I left with a bad taste but satisfied that the settlement was fair. I'm sure they will be double checking what is serve...
