The most terrible service i have ever had. Do yourself a favor, don't waste your time or money here. The waitress drop a cup of water on me while taking my Wife out for Mother's Day yesterday evening. i could of blew my top, but remained humble, although humiliated. The waitress asked me if i wanted a new waiter/waitress, i told i would basically survive, but wanted to know that they would compensate me for such a situation, which has never ever happened to me before.
She came back and said, they would cover my meal for the night. At the end of the night, after we received the check. She said the took care of the burrito, but not the rest of my meal. She asked if i wanted to speak to the Owner, and i said yes. Well it wasn't the Owner, it was Irene (i think), and she was the rudest Manager i have ever dealt with. After i explained that we were new in town, and that was only our 3rd time there, after the first time we were there a couple of months ago and to celebrate my late Mother's B-Day on March 16th. And we went there after the preivous Pastor of the church we now Pastor said it was a great restaurant, and i met with other Preachers there before that. We paid for our check in March which was about $150 along with being the kind people we are, we paid for the strangers table next to us, which was about $200 for a total of about $350. And that after being humiliated, it was the principle of the matter, it clearly had nothing to do with money. She said you're a Pastor, so what, we will not pay for you to eat food that you will eat for about 3 days, the waitress then changed her story and lied and said it was a little water, when the truth was my shirt was soaked, along with my pants that looked like i urinated on myself all the way to the knees. And lied and said she originally told me they would only vover the burrito 🌯, i guess because the Manager mentioned that she had to pay for it (what kind of bullying is this going on in the workplace).
Just a total ridiculous handling of customers, and ludicrous dealings with employees, this was a hideous experience with people who have no care whatsoever with humanity. No wonder there tons of reviews 👎🏾 that prove the same experience we had with roaches and everything else (had i did my due diligenceas usual, i would of researched it, howeverwe we referred so there you have it), and of course, we'll never go back here and spend our hard earned money with people who think like this, and have the nerves to manage a business. There are tons of reviews of similar incidents at this restaurant, and i don't think that its strange that most are African American (no need to play the race card when the proof is in the pudding, even their responses to the reviews are horrible). This same Manager checked on all the tables of Caucasian/Anglo people, but never checked on the tables of the African American people who were there, she just had a horrible and nasty attitude, no regard for Clergy/Professionals in their facility. They ruined my Wife's Mother's Day, who is a Full-time Educator and has to give this horrible story about her Mother's Day. And not only am i an Ordained Pastor, i am an Entrepreneur with over 30 years experience major industries, along with Restaurant Management, ServSafe Certification, amongst other Certifications as a Life Coach, Business Coach (Expert Level), and Master Coach just to name a few, and its they need my services because this restaurant is going down fast. Its no wonder they had ample space available on Mothers Day evening, while you couldn't get into other restaurants.
And everything they did in this situation was wrong, the Manager should of came over when it happened and never did, the Busboy should of came over to clean it up, yet we cleaned up most of it, and ask for the Busboy who was walking around coughing i may add, to come over and help.
The Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office will deal with it now, since they ignorantly chose to throw away thousands of dollars of business over a $20-$30...
Read moreFar better than expected! I avoided getting food from here for the longest for two main reasons: I figured it was just like Round the Clock from which I do not like. Their DoorDash isnt set up to make mods to your food. While the DoorDash thing stands true, Jedi’s being of similar quality to Round the Clock was way off base.
Below is a list of menu items I have tried from there along with a description and rating. Keep in mind I’m rating the food for what it is, which is food from a little family restaurant in Griffith IN, not Michelin starred food from the Las Vegas Strip. Mediterranean Wrap - (8/10) Great flavors in this wrap and the chicken is always tender and well seasoned. It’s also pretty big. Which they had the option to put the Greek dressing on the side so the wrap didn’t get soggy when having delivered.
Breakfast Vegetarian Wrap - (8.5/10) Never thought I’d be somebody craving a vegetarian dish but this breaky-wrap has me hooked. They jam pack this thing with eggs and veggies and it is so good and super filling while making me feel like I got my micro nutrients in.
Breakfast Mexican Wrap - (9/10) This is my favorite menu item! I don’t know if make their own chorizo or what, but it is so unique and flavorful! It’s definitely not the standard store bought chorizo taste most people are familiar with, so maybe skip this dish if that’s what you want, but it instead tastes a lot of coriander which gives it this very rich, warm aromatic flavor. Might not be a fan favorite due to that but I think it is absolutely fantastic.
Jedis Chicken Pita - (8/10) Another large dish packed with flavor. They do not skimp out on any of the ingredients with this one and it makes for such a flavorful, balanced tasting dish. French Toast - (5/10) Not bad by any means but nothing to write home about. Essentially just your average, run of the mill French toast. Still good, just not great. Perhaps their specialty frenchies would stand out more but I’ve only tried the plain.
Plain Cheeseburger - (5.5/10) Admittedly, I am a burger snob, so my rating may not be fair. The burger itself was good, moist, had decent flavor, and while it may have been a pre-frozen patty, I didn’t mind it. I do wish it had been slightly thicker and wider to actually fit the bun, but it left me feeling satiated as is and the bun didn’t seem to overwhelm the meat. This might not be a burger I ever end up going out of my way to get, but I wouldn’t avoid getting it again either. That said, they desperately need to add a mods option to at least their burger section on DoorDash, as this would have been significantly better had I been able to add things like grilled onions and mayo. No condiments were included with my order, but fortunately the meat itself was moist enough to where it was still enjoyable without any type of ‘sauce’ on it.
Mostaccioli w/ meat sauce - (6/10) Dont expect Italy and you’ll probably enjoy this. It’s a large portion, noodles are tender , they give you plenty of sauce, and aren’t stingy with the baked cheese on top. The sauce itself does fall a tad bit flat and could use a bit more herbs (although I like an earthy sauce) but it’s still a moderately tasty dish.
Meatloaf (3/10) My boyfriend actually ordered this and didn’t mind it but I was disappointed. The meatloaf was a just simply off. Not bad to the point of being totally inedible but to me tasted like something you’d get in a TV dinner or from a high school cafeteria. His mashed potatoes seemed to be some type of instant potato, although they weren’t inherently bad they were also like...
Read moreUnfortunately, my efforts to reach the owner on our experience were to no avail, so I must share my story here. I survived Stage 4 cancer, and one of my best friends and his girlfriend planned to take me out for a nice dinner to celebrate. Schedules prevented us from getting to where we initially had a reservation, so we decided that Jedi’s would make a fitting substitute and take care of our dinner needs. Our server was clearly new, but attentive and friendly. The problems seemed to start with the manager Linda becoming increasingly overbearing with checking on our table. We had a few issues with the food preparation but overall didn’t feel the need to complain about it, and decided overall that the evening was pleasant up to that point. Shortly before 11pm we were told the kitchen would be closing early due to COVID and to order anything else we might want so they could cook it. Linda seemed to slowly be overtaking our server as time went on, making sure she was more and more intrusive in asking us if we needed things or if we had already finished ordering. She also made it a point to remove things from the table, more than once going to take a plate we weren’t done with without asking us anything. At 11:05 we were forced to pay even though we were still eating, but did so without complaint. Just twenty minutes later, we were told we had to leave because “a 16 year old was working and needed to clean the floors by midnight”, and things took a much worse turn from here. We explained that we weren’t done eating yet and didn’t even have time to pack our remaining food to go, and that the listed hours online for the restaurant were 12am closing. Linda quickly became confrontational and stated we were expressly told by our server that the restaurant closed at 11. We told her that she said only the kitchen was closing, but Linda was insistent we were told otherwise. I asked at this point to speak to the manager because I thought this treatment was inappropriate and unfair, and I felt we were defrauded by not being allowed to finish all of our food. Linda said she ran the place at night and the owner wasn’t around, and further stated that the owner hasn’t been around for sometime and no one knows if or when he’s due back. I came in the next day and the following day to speak to this owner, referred to as Gus, but was repeatedly told he wasn’t in and they didn’t know when he would be. I finally conceded to give my number to an employee who assured me that he would have Gus call me, but it’s clear that’s never going to happen. During my return visits Linda was exceptionally patronizing, and clearly felt she would suffer no repercussions for what she had done to us, and from what I see she has reason to be that way as it seems the owner has lost the ability to control what his staff does to people here. I can no longer recommend this restaurant to anyone with such inconsiderate treatment directed towards paying customers, and I feel cheated out of what should have been a happy occasion considering my circumstances. Shame on...
