I had interaction with three people, a young woman that appeared to be a hostess, another woman who appeared to be a waitress, and a man who appeared to be the manager or perhaps the owner.
I ordered red curry chicken. It comes with a light soup and a small spring roll. The waitress brought my soup and laid it on the table with a smile. The hostess brought the spring roll and pretty much just threw it at the table. The restaurant wasn’t crowded there were maybe three or four other tables occupied in the entire restaurant.
The hostess brought out my entrée . She put it on my table as she passed by, again practically tossing around the table. No asking if there was anything else no eye contact at all. I started to eat it but quickly realized that it was not red curry. I stopped and tried to get her attention. She was sitting behind the register in an alcove interacting with her cell phone. She made fleeting eye contact with me as I was looking at her but did not engage at all. Several moments later the waitress comes by with her arms laden with dishes and looked at my table with a confused look on her face. She had my red curry and she placed it on the table. The hostess then came over and picked up the the other dish, again with no eye contact, no conversation or apology at all. The food was good to fair, not excellent. There were several pieces of bamboo shoot which were extremely woody. It came with a small bowl of white rice, and when I had consumed that I wanted to get another bowl of rice. Again the game with trying to get the eye of the hostess. Again she was behind the cash register in an alcove engaging with her cell phone. I did manage to catch the waitress as she came by to ask about it and order another bowl of rice.
When I went to pay my bill the manager/owner was behind the register going through today’s receipts. He also made no conversation, didn’t apologize for the meal mixup, no eye contact, and didn’t ask how things were etc. His verbal exchange was short and curt. “(Price for the meal).“ “Card.” “Do you want a receipt?”
I ask how the tip was handled and he said it was split between everybody, at which point I said, “well then never mind.” He handed me my receipt, and made no comment or effort to engage to find out why I chose so deliberately to not leave a tip.
As I said the food was fair. But it wasn’t good enough to come back. Not with this...
Read moreI finally got to eat here! My mother has been wanting to try it with me ever since they moved to the area. EVERY time we have tried to go the closed sign has been up. We even checked their website for their hours, but still the closed sign was up. This last Friday we try again. The parking lot was half full, but the closed signs were still up. Finally, while I'm standing there confused, I see a group just walk in. Apparently, they were open, just no one ever flips the closed sign to open. Do not be deterred by the closed sign! Note to the owners: FLIP THE SIGNS TO OPEN. You lost 5 potential sales from me alone and even more from my mother and her friends, because we didn't know you were open. We went to other restaurants because every door had a closed sign on it! In regards to the food, it is excellent. They give you a complimentary cup of chicken and rice soup and a spring roll. I loved the soup, I haven't found it at any other thai restaurant since I moved away from my favorite one in Kannapolis. It is so simple, but delicious! Mom said spring rolls were good too. I had the yellow curry for my main course, which was flavorful and not too spicy. My mother got the Pad Puk (mixed vegetables in a brown sauce) on the servers recommendation. She said it was very good. The portion sizes were good too. We each left only a few bites on our plate. We will...
Read moreGood pad Thai. Prices are GREAT for lunch and dinner (best I've ever seen for Thai food) The pad Thai and spring rolls are all Ive ever tried from this particular thai restaurant but I like it a lot. Good flavor and quality meat(which they don't skimp on as well) they don't have a problem adding extras into my meal or on the side or giving me extra sauce. (I've been to Thai restaurants that refuse to add other ingredients to a dish even though I offered to pay!) I had them add cabbage to this pad Thai. They put a lot of peanuts and egg into this dish 👍. Very good, flavor is strong and delicious. The noodles are somewhat saucy(oil from cooking) but I personally love it that way👌
Ten ten Thai is one of my staples for Thai food. Nice relaxing atmosphere too. Get out and support local business by eating there. They...
