We have been here a couple times. Itās out of our way, we only come here when we come to our sonās appointments. We have noticed owner always looks upset. But we always came back for the food. Today for the first time restaurant was full. Again we were with our son. We noticed the difference in service between our table and all the other tables. We werenāt given options in drinks (no problem, we could have asked). Nor did we get asked if we needed anything else, we were planning to take to go, we were just given our tab, while all other tables were asked if they were ok or needed anything else. But the most disappointing part was when we were told to ask our 4 year old to be quiet in a rude way in front of everyone. First he is a 4 year old and he was talking normal raising his voice at times like a normal 4 year old. He was not yelling he was the loudest because he is a kid. I understand the establishment is really small, but if there is a problem with kids then just say when families enter. I suggest to never ever call a family out publicly if their kids are a little loud. It is embarrassing to a family and you may never know what that family may be going though, and if you need too, approach a family privately. If you were upset on how our child was speaking I cannot imagine how you would react if there was a kid talking louder or crying. Now I understand why each time that we came you looked upset, you are not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I dined here in August 2023 and we came back in January 2025 for another round of ramen. This year new owners were two weeks into their management of this small Japanese noodle shop. A sign near the cash register read, "We are not a fast food restaurant. Your food is made fresh every order. Please be patient."
We patiently awaited our orders to be prepared; it was worth the wait. We ordered miso soup, pork ribs ramen and vegetarian udon. Each dish was tasty, well-seasoned and filled with the appropriate amounts of vegetables and meat. Although we did not sample the sushi (the new owners have installed a sushi bar), our appetites were sated by the food we ordered. After we had finished slurping our soups, our server asked if we would like a cup of jasmine tea. We said yes, and he poured some into a couple of small, ceramic cups. This was a fine way to conclude our visit to Ronin's.
The atmosphere of Ronin was Japanese urban, created by the Asian rap music (not too loud) and colorful pictures on the walls. A wide-screen TV was being installed when we visited. We were wondering what programming would be presented on this screen. There is a small, free parking lot next to Ronin's, and it can fill up quickly because there are 10 other businesses in this strip mall, including a couple of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat experience tonight. First impression as I walked in was simple but inviting decor.
I started with the gyoza, excellent taste, not to salty, and a nice crispness. Also a good value for the amount given. 5 pieces for $4.
I chose the Chasshu ramen, which comes in a tonkotsu broth. You can get miso soup instead for a small charge. The broth tasted great, not overpowering as some tonkotsuās can be. I added the spicy oil a little bit at a time, which gave me the right spicy level, and only added to the flavor. The first thing that caught my eye was the chasshu, it looked delicious and tasted even better. The right thickness and cooked perfectly for my personal taste. The egg was cooked less than Iām used to receiving and my normal taste, the runny yolk added an extra texture that I hadnāt experienced before but enjoyed. The ramen noodles were good quality and cooked well.
As you can see from the menu they have quite a few choices for ramen. The prices are comparable to many ramen shops around the country, even a better value than some. The service was good, above average. If Iām the area again I would definitely return!
