We walked in (I worked in the restaurant industry for years when I was younger) it wasn’t busy at all. I don’t get to go out with my dad much. So it’s nice when 3 generations get together. Should be memorable and 2 adults should be acknowledged. We were just us as a party of 3. Not any other people were there to be seated. The main host guy was on the “stand” and on the phone. (Understandable) BUT, there was a girl next to him. Looked like she would have the ability to great humans walking in as she stood there and did nothing. Made it very awkward. And she continued to completely ignored us didn’t acknowledge us ever. Just stood there saw us waiting to be acknowledged by anyone at all. We didn’t even need to be seated immediately just told something like “Hi” back bc we walked in and said “hello” and no one said anything no one said “hey, give us just a moment. -Nothing was said” 2 other girls who clearly worked there (as the need for the 4 person staff of hosts is not enough apparently.) These 2 girls walked up looked at us waiting also said nothing at all. Giggling at each other and ran away together still laughing. My dad looked at me in front of them asked me “do you want to go somewhere else” still nothing was said to us. I on a time frame, said it’s fine we’ll wait a min longer. The main host on the stand on the phone. Got off, pointed to where I assume was a table he wanted the other girl that first ignored us was supposed to sit us down. She didn’t ever acknowledge us at all. And walked over after also laughing and flirting with the main host guy and then just immediately grabbed a basket of bred. I had to ask her myself if I could grab a kids menu for my 6 year old son. She or the other 3 host team all did not acknowledge us at all. Or ask if I needed as kids menu as I obviously had a kid. I don’t know what is going on here, it’s clearly near impossible to have walked into a restaurant and have 4 people not acknowledge you. But they are doing a wonderful job at this. I was completely shocked at this whole situation bc it started off the situation with a very negative experience. Our waiter was named Caden. And my sons name is also cayden so he really made a difference and was very good and professional. He did a wonderful job and it all ended very well. However, I just wanted to make a formal complaint about how terrible and clearly unprofessional having 4 employees going to a host stand and none being at all capable of making eye contact or acknowledging the only human party in the entry way of a restaurant is amazing. I just want to say more bodies being up front ignoring customers isn’t what’s needed here. Just the ability for someone to say hi, we’ll be with you in just a moment, would be life changing here. Level of service here seems to be all about if you get lucky enough to have a good server. Sad to see I remember when there was quality hospitality in the restaurant industry and a general clear respect for elders as my dads a senior aged person. Just goes to say a ton when a down home style hospitality vibe type of restaurant serves southern food can’t also have the same level of hospitality that’s expected at a restaurant like this especially it’s just a huge disappointment. We really used to like it there. Sad to have to see it loose good business. My dad used to take a lot of business people there and looks like it’s lost now. I will say this is all very much aside from our server. I think very highly of the server, Caden who actually waited on us. But it’s just terrible to want to leave based on walking into a place and 4 humans no being able to say “give me a moment with a half decent...
Read moreWorst Dining Experience Ever - Avoid at All Costs
I recently visited this restaurant in Northlake with my family and it was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I have ever had.
When we arrived, I informed the hostess that we needed seating for 2 adults and 2 children, both requiring high chairs. We were told to wait inside as the tables were being cleaned and that it would be quick. Fifteen minutes later (strike one), a new hostess said it would be just a few more minutes. Finally, after another couple of minutes, we were seated, but were only provided with one high chair. We requested another high chair but were told that only one high chair could be in the aisle as it is a fire hazard and servers cannot get around so we were given a booster seat instead (strike two). This reasoning was absurd as another high chair wouldn't extend anything further into the aisle, you put them side by side, not lined up, so they would only take up the same width as our table but going into aisle would be same.
Frustrated, we made do with the booster seat, but as soon as our daughter was seated in the booster seat, she began grabbing everything on the table. We decided to endure the situation and vowed never to return. To make matters worse, less than 10 minutes later, employees set up an extension tabletop at the booth to our right, seating eight people instead of four and significantly encroaching into the aisle space, by at least 4 feet. Apparently, this was not considered a fire hazard, but our additional high chair was (strike three).
The situation escalated when an employee came over and demanded that we switch our high chair for another booster seat, claiming it was a fire hazard. We refused, and she huffed and puffed before walking away, only to return and repeat her demand. The service manager then came over, rudely insisting we move the high chair. Despite our protests and pointing out the inconsistency with the extended table next to us, we were ignored. At this point, I lost my temper and rightfully expressed my frustration and cussed her out. Speaking to the owner as we left, he tried to downplay the situation by claiming that what they provided was a high chair without legs, not a booster seat. He would not comment on how the table ext was a true fire hazard and on why we were asked to remove our daughter when we were seated 10 minutes before the party next to us.
This entire ordeal was not only frustrating but entirely irrational. The blatant double standard regarding aisle space and fire hazards was infuriating. Our experience at the Denton location had no such issues, making this experience even more disappointing.
Only 3 reasons I can come up with why this happened.
1.. Racist....my children our half black. I give this 1% as being the cause, maybe, but it will linger even if I beleive 99% its not true.
2.. Service manager made exception to put table ext into aisle because she knew the people.
3.. We were a party of only 2 meals, they were a party of 8 meals. Money.
No matter which one it is, I have never hated a business as much as this one and sincerely hope it fails. Avoid this place at all costs. The Northlake location is a complete waste of space. Denton location, or any other location is a much...

First time we (My son, My mother & I) had been to a TR in a long time so we decided to pick our steaks from the viewing cabinet since we had never done it before. Our waiter was great and always love the up beat atmosphere in a good steak house. However this experience was lacking. We ordered our food and appetizers and were enjoying our appetizers continuously watching the steaks from our booth that we picked out since we had never done it before and were curious if you actually do get those steaks. Well our food arrived and our steaks that we picked out were still sitting in the cabinet. We asked the waiter about it and he said he would go see what happened. Waiter returned and said he had tried to speak with the cooks but none spoke English but what he could get out of it was they weren't pulling the steaks like they were supposed to. We told him no problem we would just eat what he brought. I guess he told a manager and she came over amd proceeded to tell us that we did get the steaks we picked out and that SHE had verified it. (Well as anyone that has done that steak picking before knows, you get a ticket # that matches the # in the steak in the glass"). She blatantly lied to our face and that is what made me upset, i can deal with a mistake no problem, we all make them. But then another High up manager comes over and says "I'm sorry for them not pulling your steaks and admits they did not pull them (which we already knew) and says she will use this as a teaching moment for her staff and manager. Then the other lower manager comes back and continues to make excuses and not own her LIE and hands us a 30$ gift pass, i tried to explain that if she was honest i wouldn't have had any problem @ all and she still continues to make excuses instead of owning the Lie.
Soooo... The steak ended up having great flavor, our waiter was great and Maddie the Higher up Supervisor handled the situation (to us) way better than the other. Gave a 10$ discount on our food which was pretty insulating since neither steak was cooked as asked and we dealt with this issue on and off for @least 15+minutes of people coming back and forth to the table. I however did used this as a teaching moment for my 12yr old son on the importance of LYING. All this could have been avoided if the first "Manager" was as honest as the waiter that brought the food!!
Don't let this discourage you from eating there as I'm sure/hope this was a very unfortunate incident we got the pleasure of...
