Biddy O'Malley's — Restaurant in Northvale

First time i came to this place the food was delicious My meal was the mussels The first time I had them they were great. My second visit the appetizer was good I again got the mussels were a little off but I didn't think much of it My THIRD and last visit was horrible , the server first she was awful never checked on us unless she had to drop something off to the table. No drinks no actual service. My mistake was to order the mussels again. HORRIBLE, the food was really cold Tasted really bad and you could taste the raw onion from the suace. And the mussels were cold. The server didn't come to the table ONCE after our food was dropped off. No one actually did. So I didn't say anything and I ate some of the mussels off the plate beacuse I was hungry and was gonna pay for them regardless. Finally a busser took our meal when my partner was finished and we had to ask the busser on his second visit to the table to tell the server to give us our check. It's such a shame beacuse it has alot of potential and shout out to the 2 managers that work there they are very nice and welcoming. But no one was attending anything that Saturday night. Me and my girlfriend got sick from the food the next day as well. Besides the cold and not good food. The server was one of the biggest problems. I couldn't even have a second to let her know what was going on. She also never wrote anything...

We were excited to find Biddy O’Malley’s only few minutes drive from us, it’s a very beautiful (from outside) restaurant, good for a cozy intimate dine-in experience.

We spontaneously decided to go there for dinner on President’s day. We got seated right away without any delays. Through out our dine-in we had wonderful attentive service.

They have a decent amount of variety in their menu. I had a difficult tome picking an item to try, out of so many. I eventually went with the Snapper as I really wanted to try the sauce and mango salsa. The fish was cooked well, but I felt the rice, salsa and sauce didn’t enhance the dish too much. Would have been nice to have little bit extra punch in the sauce to make the dish more appealing.

I also tried the crab cake, was decent, and Brussels sprouts, really well made, enhanced with the aioli sauce. Felt that aioli could have made my snapper taste better :p

They were very kind to bring us our dessert cake at the end with a small candle to celebrate the birthday of our family member.

Overall we had a wonderful dinner. We were really glad to find Biddy so close to our home. Will be stopping by more times to try other items...

I've been vacationing at Long Beach Island at the Jersey shore, but needed to make an unexpected trip back north to take care of a dental issue. And maybe the great restaurants at LBI spoiled me, but I was somewhat disappointed with my visit this evening to Biddy O" Malley's. I went with my son, and I found the appetizers just so-so. The macaroni and cheese could have been more flavorful, and the risotto itself was good, but the kale that was mixed-in was way too hard to eat. My son had a tasty hamburger, and I I had the pork sandwich which was not as tender as I would liked. Our desserts were great. The staff was as pleasant as could be, and our waiter did an incredible job, but he was really asked to do too much. He was the bartender for the bar as well, and I did not see many other waiters or waiters, but he did the best he could. My son enjoyed the dining experience, so I took that into account, and came up with my 3...
