Gael’s Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Norton Shores

My little brother suggested we try out this new Mexican cuisine @ Gael's Mexican Restaurant. It is located in the old Mango's on Sherman in Muskegon. We were greeted as we walked in and then told to pick a table and they would be right with us. They were, very friendly, attentive, personable & informative. I had a burrito, taco, beans & rice. She asked me what type of taco shell I would like and I asked her what she would recommend. Our server who was wonderful recommended I try the homemade hard shell and I am so glad I did. It was absolutely delicious. I've never had anything like it. I went with the chicken taco. Again, the flavor was very good. My bro had enchiladas and was more than satisfied with his meal. This place is great! We visited early on a Thursday evening, before it was busy; but by the time we left it was filling up. Our server claimed to be new, but was very patient and knowledgeable when we had questions about the menu - she provided excellent service throughout. The food was exceptional! The mole poblano was well-balanced and tasted like it had been simmering all day. Paired with the homemade tortillas (think puffy tacos here...), it was on-point...this is the real-deal mole, for sure. Others in our party ordered combination plates and the fried burritos (akin to chimichangas), and all agreed that their food was very good.

Love this place, my son got me going to Mi Parrel and it closed for good. I found out about Gael's and started going there. They have the hand made/ home made Taco shells that Mi Parrel had and they're my favorite. Number 2 combo plate is my constant foodfare there. Great food, reasonable prices, great friendly service; A fine place to go to with your friends or family to enjoy mexican food your way. My most favorite Mexican Restaurant of any I've been to.
