We had the worse experience with this establishment and would encourage people to read this review carefully. While we were away in Europe, and our two dogs stayed here for a week. We got a call from Alexis, the assistant manager mid-week, telling us that a dog attacked ours--there was a small cut under his ear and she was cleaning the wound and there was nothing to worry about. We were led to believe that there was one bite, but in fact there are THREE gash marks (two on his neck), and one is an inch wide and deep. Our dog should have been taken to our vet—these kids who run the place are not vets. When we picked them up they were filthy and the wounds were equally as dirty. Now our dog is on antibiotics and is under our vet's care. We had asked to speak with the manager (whom we met a month prior--a guy who claimed he lived across the street when we first met him—told us he would be available at any time), and we have never gotten a courtesy call in four days. Where are these people? When they returned our beds, etc., we’re confused why there were only two bags of food returned for one dog only when we specifically labeled by date--AM and PM food for each dog. The food was separated and specifically labeled because there were medications in the food bags—the medication was to be taken as per the day--and the bags that they returned were out of date and already passed. Did the right dog take the right medication on the right day? When we came to pick the dogs up, we’re also concerned that the person at the front desk looked like they were not old enough to work. More importantly, they seemed clueless as to who we were and didn’t seem to expect us. We confirmed with Alexis that we were coming on Saturday before 10am. And to further top this bad experience off, they charged us for Saturday 8/3, when we were told by Alexis that if we picked the dogs up before 10am we would NOT be charged (which we were). They also claimed that we canceled the grooming appointment for 1230pm, but when we confirmed we were picking them up before 10, and Alexis confirmed they would be groomed, it is outrageous that a) the dogs were filthy, and b) the wounds were not treated properly. Although the people seem nice at this place, they are definitely not trained and if you care about your dogs, perhaps give them a shot at daycare but do not leave them...
Read moreI'm usually too lazy to write reviews. But after my experience at Dogtopia, I felt obligated to let others know about this incredible place. My dog was supposed to have a "meet and greet" at another Dogtopia, but I had to cancel it due to an injury I had sustained the day prior. By the time I called to reschedule, they, as well as many other boarding facilities I called, had no availability left for the 4th of July weekend. Dogtopia Norwalk let us come for the meet and greet on very short notice. They were also willing to work with me to accomodate my boarding request for a few days, on such short notice. All the while, they thoroughly answered any questions I had along the way. Being able to see my dog on the camera throughout the day made me miss her less and put me more at ease. I could see first hand how much fun she was having and how great the staff was treating her. The report card about how she did during her stay was also a great addition. Loved seeing what her favorite activities were and that she made friends, etc. Today was the day I got my pup back and I'm not sure I've ever seen her so tired lol. I'm taking it as a sign that she had an amazing time. All in all, highly recommend Dogtopia Norwalk to anyone who wants to rest assured that their dog is in...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place because it is such a good idea and the people are nice but there are always issues with their technology. I used Dogtopia in Norwalk a few times for daycare and boarding. First of all, their phone app does not work very well. I can no longer make appointments within the app so I had to call, but reaching this location by phone isn't easy as they don't pick up the phone. After you leave a voicemail and send an email they'll call you back. Their camera did not work either, they had to call their IT because an error message was asking me to do Meet and Greet again. Very disappointing as my son likes to check on the dog from time to time and that was the main reason we started using this company. Before leaving on vacation I spoke to a young man and provided my sister's name as an authorized person for pickup and confirmed with him twice that she is still on the list. When my sister arrived they did not have her information and they lost my cc which was on file. They had to call me abroad for permission and luckily I had my phone on me with an 8hr time difference in the middle of the night. I don't think I will be using Dogtopia again after all...
