I have driven by this restaurant numerous times and always said I should check it out. I only have myself to blame for not eating there earlier because I have been depriving myself of a truly delicious meal! Stopped with my preschooler after her visit to the doctor. She ordered chocolate milk and flapjacks with blueberries and chocolate chips with a side of sausage. I ordered the corned beef hash and a coffee.
She was very happy with her flapjacks, which also came with a small cup of cut up strawberries and some butter. Her dish came with 3 flapjacks. She finished one, and didn't (probably couldn't) eat more because she finished her strawberries with her first flapjack. I tried a bite of what looked like homemade sausage and it was very good.
My corned beef hash came with 2 eggs (done in whatever style you want), homefries, a very thick slice of cornbread, homemade strawberry jam, and a side of beans. I did not come close to finishing, but everything was very scrumptious! The strawberry jam was delicious on the cornbread (you can just get toast as well).
There was plenty of great options on the menu, including desserts, nitro and cold brew coffee, sandwiches, avocado toast, everything! I can't...
Read moreI grew up in Norwell and used to come here with my sisters and Mum all the time. I remember getting dressed up and making it a special occasion. I believe the 1st time we went was in 1978. I had the privilege with my daughter who is now 19 taking me here for breakfast today. Not only was it nostalgic as it reminded me of special childhood memories with my sister who has passed but I now am creating memories with my daughter.
To the food, AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS, is an understatement. I had the eggs benny. The eggs perfectly poached, hollandaise sauce was light and delicate and not overpowering or too thick. The red bliss home fries were crispy and well seasoned. My daughter had the waffle; light and fluffy, and the fresh fruit and whipped cream were great. There was a side of sweet whipped sour cream that put it over the top. We shared a side of the corn bread and that is a must for anyone to order that walks through the door.
The new owner,Marko Fani, has kept the ambiance the same as I remember it 45 years ago and the food is top notch.
With so much gratitude to the front of house staff to the kitchen staff for bringing back fond memories and creating new ones. Don't change a thing!!! We...
Read moreI have not been here in a few years and i was reminded why i dont go more frequently. First off the food..eggs,maple bacon, homefries and a grilled piece of cornbread was awesome. The waitress was wonderful. So if you dont mind your average 30+min sunday wait and not so great parking situation this is the place. Just thought i would mention that i haf to bring a chairpad in because if you are like me and cannot sit on a piece of wood for the duration of the meal..its recommended to add your own pad to the ridiculously thin chairpad that they have. I will add that they have quite a few things to checkout while you ar waiting..ie. old baking things.(kitchenware from early 1900's).old local books..fresh muffins..etc to grab on your way home.. This adds to the cozy atmosphere..abit squishy..size wise..wheelchair can get in BUT i have been in a whelchair for over four years at one time in my life so i do notice these type of things..so you can get in with a wheelchair but i do not see how you can maneuver once inside amd you will not be able to use bathroom if you cannot get out of your...
