So i would consider myself a connoisseur of pizza as I've had a lot of it in my lifetime. This is the first time I've had Luigis and definitely the last unfortunately. First of all, for a Saturday evening, I was expecting it to be bustling and possibly have to wait in line to order a pizza or get a table. Quite the contrary, you would've thought it was an early Tuesday afternoon. No phones ringing constantly to place orders and the staff seemed lackadaisical at best. No warm greetings and no one came to ask us about the pizza as we ate there. We ordered an XL pizza with extra cheese, pepperoni, and sausage on thin crust. It appeared much smaller than most XL pizzas I've had before and reminded me of a frozen pizza. The cheese was thin and greasy, and the meat not much better. The crust was ok, but as other reviewers have written, had the texture of Saltines. The sauce was pitiful. Watery and reminiscent of tomato soup. I'd compare their pizza to school lunch style pizza. Im sorry to sound so harsh, but I expected more from a $25 pizza, especially since there are far better choices...
Read moreWe were so disappointed. This place has been in business since 1955 so were expecting something great. We shared a 4" meatball sub which was okay although the bread was non-descript which should have been an indication of what was to come. We ordered a 12" pizza with sausage, green pepper, onion, mushroom and black olives. The crust was thin and crusty except that it wasn't crispy in the middle where it was gooey and stuck to the cardboard it was served on. The crust had a sweet taste which isn't really what we want in a pizza crust. The sauce with bland with not a hint of any Italian spices and the sausage was without much flavor eitherl. We would rank it a 5 on a scale of 10 but it really wasn't really much better than a frozen pizza you can pick up at the local Kroger's. Our "go to pizza place" is Spirano's and it doesn't look like that is going to change after our visit to Luigi's. Oh yes, they also use styrofoam...
Read moremediocre. some people may like this pizza but I'm not a big fan. other reviewers mentioned the crust is sweet and it is definitely sweet. I almost didnt order because of those but saw someone mention it was their 2nd favorite after Rubino's in Bexley, which is hands down my favorite pizza ever so I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered mushrooms and black olives on it and the mushrooms were from a can and rubbery. I got wings and Italian sub also. the wings are of the restaurant depot precooked sort and I was really disappointed because they seem to have a fryer due to some other menu items and these were not fried nor cooked from fresh chicken. the sub comes tomatoless so I had to order tomato on it and pay fifty cents extra and it came to my door with no tomato of course. I will not be ordering from here again but some people seem to like it so don't let my...
