I have been going to Guarino’s for over 25 years and today was, by far, the worst experience I have ever had there. Went there with my special needs daughter to get a birthday cake for my son who is turning 8. Waited over 20 minutes to even get helped after the line went down and when there was only 2 customers in the entire place at that time! Eventually, the line got very big again and one girl said to the other girl to go downstairs and get some help. Magically, five girls appear out of nowhere but by that time I ended up with the overworked girl who not only did a very poor job writing on the cake (see picture below), but she also overcharged me for the quantity of specialty cookies. Poor service all around. In addition, the customer next to me whom came in after me was on his third time trying to get them to spell his daughter’s name correctly on their cake! It was an easy name…four letters! I doubt I will go back after all this. There really is no excuse for such poor service all around. And, of course, there is no one there to talk to. I’ve been there at thanksgiving during Covid and it was better organized than today. Never thought I’d see the day, but Guarino’s is going downhill. It’s not worth the trip anymore!

Omg this place used to be so good, i dont know what happened to the regular cakes, i bought a red velvet and gold cake with cream cheese frosting, they gave me regular frosting with Diabetes mixed in it, THE SUGAR content was way way way too much, we couldn't eat the cake, we had to throw it out, I had 25 people for a graduation party, mind you i picked the cakes up on Saturday, so there was nothing we could of done, and family and friends told me it was too too too sweet, I was so upset!! Just stick with the strawberry cake with the whipped cream frosting that's the best one, dont do regular

Overall decent pastries, even though I don’t really love pastries in general. so not enough to draw me back, but don’t regret going. There’s a little parking lot to the side of the building. Cannolis are decent. I thought the filling was kind of fluffy and lighter than I’m used to, but after a night in the fridge it firmed up a bit which i like better. I enjoyed the tiramisu right when I bought it but I think the holding temp in their unit was slightly low because there was some ice crystals in the bite. Was 13.50 for 2 cannoli and a tiramisu slice, which seems very reasonable

I should start off by saying that I love Guarino’s cake. I have ordered two cakes from there in the past month and i’m in there almost every week buying cupcakes for coworkers birthdays. During my visit last week I spoke with the owner because of something that happened the previous weekend. I had picked up a cake on Sunday at 12:30. Just before they close. It was supposed to be a large chocolate cake with peaches. $48. Unfortunately when we cut it that night at the birthday party it was a rum cake. I didn’t have another cake is back up, and I thought it was just yellow cake. So I served it. When I brought this mistake to the attention of the owner, she looked up the receipt and it said rum cake. She accused me of ordering the rum cake or miscommunicating. But I never would’ve ordered a rum cake knowing that there would be children and a couple of recovering alcoholics present. Needless to say most of the kids tasted and didn’t like it. I was one of the last people to have a slice so we didn’t realize that it was rum cake until after most of it had been served (and thrown away). I went in there today to buy cupcake with no intention of asking for a refund. Wanted to bring the mistake to their attention. After the owner got belligerent with me I did ask for a refund and she offered me three dollars ($48 cake). Looks like I need to find a new bakery. Any suggestions?

At the suggestion of a friend who owns some bakeries in Europe, I went to Guarino’s this morning to give them another chance to rectify the situation. I spoke to the husband this time and he said that his wife already talked to me, I should get over it and stop wasting their time. He then turned his back and walked away (to the back room). ...

I purchased a cake october 20 2019 for my daughters first birthday. I love pastries there dont get me wrong. And people is very nice. But they didnt pay attention to what i wanted for my birthday cake. I said plain white, no fruit on top and no decorations because i will decorate it my self. But i need strawberries as the cake filling and they said they would do it. I dont know who’s mistake was it but because i called in to change the topping for the cake from whipped cream to frosting, I asume they completely erased the strawberry filling. So i ended up with some flavorless gold and frosting cake, well cake just tasted like so and i got disappointed because i came from Colorado to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and since i love this pastry shop i needed to get my cake from them. I got many amazing pastries during the time in Massachusetts but the cake and what i got her as a smash cake I regret. The mini gold cake was extremely dry. And hey when does a child doesn’t like an extremely sweet something to eat?! She hated it. Once again the dry cake was the mini cake. The big cake was nice and moist. Why one star? Because it was my daughter’s first birthday cake and their first is to a mon of her first child an extremely...
