hey i was treated so rude at this very location . i donāt know if they are racist or have attitudes but i thought they were closed the way nobody was on the line! Soon as i came in i told the first lady i wanted a regular carbonara spilt into two small bowls at the end. I guess this was a problem because she stormed off the line and went to get somebody else. Listen if your workers canāt speak english or understand proper grammar they donāt need to be working here !! so she gets this tall heavyset lady and she was so rude to me. First she messed up my order i told her i wanted penne noodles not spaghetti noodles and she put loads and loads of spaghetti noodles in my bowl . i told her i didnāt want that many noodles and she just throws the whole bowl in the trash aggressively , and says y do i have to be difficult!! i said im not difficult i like my food a certain way and if u dont like how im ordering my food somebody else can make it.. she basically told me to shut up and stop with all that extra shit. i told her i would never stop talking while im ordering my food bc u messed up my order the first time. she then made me a new bowl and while i was telling her what i wanted she tried to over charge me for some FREE alfredo sauce .. i never paid extra for alfredo here in my life i could have just made this at home if i was going to deal which such a hassle. then i get to pay for my food and its 18 bucks for a regular carbonara .. i usually pay 10$ and i always use my military discount so it comes out cheaper. i added extra meat so i see why the price is a little more extra but with the discount it should have been a flat 15$ thatās the most i ever paid . so i show her my military id and ask her twice did u put my military discount on there she said yes. so after the receipt printed out she showed it to her mexican friends and spoke in their language and they all started laughing .. i never felt so embarrassed and belittled in my life i will never be back again.. later on she threw the receipt away and i didnāt get to see what she charged me for . so i gave the store a call back and they said it was nothing else they could do and basically tried to hurry up and get me off the phone but he did mention that they did not give me the military discount because i did not show my id which i did and u can see it in the cameras. this place is a joke and they just lie to get your money i could have kept my little $20 bucks if i knew i was going to be left with a headache and over charged bill ....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went here for the second time recently and I had a very strange experience.
They had 4 people behind the counter. Two workers at the far end, one was a Trainee. One was working the hot food and pasta line, and one was a "Piada Chef" he had a special white coat and everything.
I go in and this woman in front of me orders three bowls. No problem. Except for some reason I guess they were out of spaghetti (they store it in these really small Dutch oven like containers) and literally the entire restaurant sat there for 5 minutes watching this single person boil spaghetti. The customers. The chef. The workers. All of it stood still as we waited for spaghetti lol. They didn't even ask if I maybe wanted penne while we were waiting... everything stopped for the spaghetti! I've never seen anything like it in my life.
She goes on and gets the rest of her ingredients with her pasta. As she's ordering the woman handling the serving line pushes my bowl over directly in front of this chef guy who instead of helping me grates cheese and checks out the people in front of me. He then, after checking them out, proceeds to stand directly in front of my bowl of pasta and doesn't touch it. It's another few minutes before the serving line girl notices after taking care of the people behind me and adds the single missing ingredient from my pasta... the parmesan cheese. I had to wait another 5 minutes and watch a man literally just stand there and not give me cheese! He did check me out though!
I'm not sure if none of the characters in this story are new to working in foodservice but it felt like I was experiencing a real life slide show of a bunch of actors playing restaurant workers. The whole thing was a very weird and bizarre experience and totally unlike the first time I went, where I was in and out in just a few minutes.
The food is solid. The sauces are good, the meat options are good, and the wraps and salads seem good too. It's like an Italian version of Chipotle, and it's exactly like you think it would be. It's kind of silly that they call it street food because who is out on the streets of Italy boiling pasta and making salads? It doesn't really make any sense!
If you're prepared for a weird experience for some mediocre food, hit this place up! I don't think I will anytime...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell, I came in this restaurant, and as I came in, I waited to be helped, it seems like warren didn't want to assist me with my large bowl I wanted to purchase on my lunch break, He seemed very off when I was waiting, but very talkative with the white couple behind me! so the young man that helped me was very kind, I ordered a large sausage bowl, my pasta seemed very not much in my large expensive bowl, I asked for more pasta to the black line because it's a large bowl, and he did exactly what I liked! He also gave me more sauce then any other Piada place that I've been too and it was very delicious. And the Warren guy that didn't seem to want to help me as the next in line, he made sure that he supervised and watched the young kind black man make what I asked for, and made me uncomfortable to watch Warren watch the guy that made my bowl properly! And I also watched Warren make sure I got a extra pasta charge for pasta as well, hmmm, very strange! And as I checked out, I watched Elisa make sure I was charged and I had watch her make sure she didn't close the lid and I had to ask for a bag, there was no greetings or anything or a thank you for visiting from Elisa the cashier! She just made sure I was extra charged, I wanted to give a tip to the young black man for taking the time to make sure I was satisfied with my large bowl I purchased, my total rounded up to $13 and Elisa made sure that my tip was not accepted to give to the young black gentleman employee that showed some respect towards me as a customer! And then I had to ask for a cup of water twice. I will not be back to this location again! I have been visiting Piada every sense they business started in Cincinnati! But the extra charges in the large bowls is rediculous. I would order a small bowl for a small size portion. But no. I ordered a large bowl, this is the first time I have ever been charged for pasta when I'm normally charged for extra sauce when other locations give one you only get one scoop of sauce. But this location has made me not look back visiting this atmosphere again! It's to expensive to not be happy with how you want your large bowl! And my bowl looks exactly like the advertising shown on the pictures, it's very misleading and wrong to be...
