was lucky enough to eat at the original Taco Casa near U of Cincinnati in the 70s, where I fell in love with the amazing dressing covered Taco Salad. Returned last week to Cincinnati for a visit, and on our list of places to revisit was Taco Casa, this time in Hyde Park. Not a fancy restaurant - in fact, a walk up window and outdoor seating. But it was a beautiful weekend, so it worked out. They were swamped at noon on Friday, but the guy took it in stride, and was very pleasant and helpful, in between jumping to the other side of the work counter to help the cook fill the orders. Very patient with the customers. We of course got the Taco Salad and a Burrito Boat. Now I'm not saying this is the most authentic Mexican food, but it sure is tasty, just like it use to be. I was not disappointed. The famous salad isn't really a salad - not much of that green stuff, which is probably why I like it. The layers of lettuce, meat, beans, onions, tomatoes, grated cheddar and gobs of their wonderful homemade garlic buttermilk ranch dressing is a dream. If you like comfort food. And the Burrito Boat, as before, is a large burrito sitting in a flood of melted tasty cheese. Again, my kind of tasty comfort. Don't go looking for class or authenticity here, go for tasty good stuff. Thanks guys, for...
Read moreIve been a customer for 25+ years. My experience today was not good. The young lady working the front counter was not managing the line well or customer feedback. There were issues with line management and unhappy customers when I entered. Instead of addressing any customer complaints she blew everyone of them off. I shouldn't be surprised when my order was incorrect, I brought it back to tell her & was treated as an inconvenience and told that is what I ordered. I've faithfully ordered the same exact thing for 25 years. I've never mistaken a chilito for an enchilada. After being met with resistance, I tried it, didn't like it and through it away. I told her they are NOT the same thing, to which she implied, and told her I didn't like it and threw it away to which her response was a careless "ok." Whattttt?!?
If this is how you treat your guests in this market environment, you won't have any left. My taco salad was fine. I still won't be back due to the poor service experience today. The 2 ladies in the kitchen should've been running the front as well. They do a much better job.
I tried to email you but nothing is listed on your website other than the...
Read moreI was here yesterday, the food is usually good, but there is a surge in Covid 19 cases here locally. There girl that took my order and money had her mask around her neck and so did the cooks. When I asked them why they put them over their mouths until I was out of sight then pulled them down again and started to complain about having to wear them. The cashier claimed she had allergies and it was already hard for her to breathe. If she were to contract this virus it would be more than a little hard for her to breathe if she survived it at all. Not to mention how many customers food they contaminated in the process. I was even sorry I handled change for the $20 I gave her. Since the masks are to protect the other people from the wearer, it was not worth the risk to me to take the food from this establishment at this time. If a mask makes it to hard to breathe, I don't know how doctors do 12 hour surgeries, oh, yeah, its really just an excuse! I left without my money or the food, it was not...
