I've given myself a couple of days to digest my visit here and I'm overall incredibly disappointed, but I'll start with the positives: the food was good and our orders were brought out in a quick and timely fashion for a weekend dinner time rush. The amount of food to cost average was decent, and in line with other KBBQ places.
Negatives: I've never encountered a restaurant where the waitress/waiter actively ignores you (other than bringing out our incomplete orders) and treats you differently from other customers. The multiple times our server walked past (in both directions), they very pointedly turned their head and looked the other way. Not once did our waitress stop by to ask if we needed anything or how everything was and only noticed our completely empty cups when she brought out the next portion of our order. Also the fact that she placed two spoons down on the table for two of us, and then held out the remaining two spoons for the rest of the party to take out of her hands was a bit odd (she didn't have her hands full).
At first I gave her the benefit of the doubt because we all have bad days and maybe she was having one. But when she asked the table next to us if they needed anything, it was clear something was amiss. The table two down from us were laughing and joking around with their waitress. We spent some time trying to flag someone down because they missed a portion of our order and again, the blatant ignoring of the waitress made it impossible. I thought I was the only one out of my party noticing the missing items and the blatant lack of service as the rest of my party was still incredibly nice and polite to the waitress even after someone went up to the hostess stand to ask for our missing items.
The part that makes me absolutely livid was towards the end of our meal. Our waitress comes over and turns off the grill without saying a word when there was still clearly food on top (this was around 9:10p and they close at 9:30p). Then after dumping the check, a different waitress comes to collect the receipts. She then comes over and asks who didn't tip, hands that person their already signed bill and stands over that person's shoulder and states "20% please". At this point she and the other waitress are surrounding our table. Then says "we're closed" (it's 9:20/9:25 at this point). And pretty much non physically forces us out. The kicker? As we exit the door, she states "Thank you for coming" in a cheerful demeanor. The happiest I've seen/heard from her to us all night.

Read moreI read the reviews before coming here, as I like to get a general idea of what the place is like. People basically say the food is good but the customer service and hospitality is severely lacking.
Anyway, the food looked good to me so even if the customer service wasn’t going to match, I decided to give this place a try.
First off, I enter and the lady just tells me to take a seat. But then she puts a menu on a random table before I even pick a place to sit. And it happens to be the one closest to where she’s sitting at the bar. 🤨 So what’s the point of asking me to sit? She sits me right next to this short wall that someone can stand and look over and see me sitting. Ok fine.
Tea and menu is served. I order BiBimBap. What’s strange to me is that this Korean lady is standing on the OTHER side of this short wall as she’s taking my order. She can’t even be bothered to walk over to the other side. 🤨 I’m only mentioning this because not too long after 4 Korean men entered the restaurant and the way they were treated is like night and day.
The staff greets them in Korean and the guests respond the same way. But when it’s time for them to order, this same lady actually walks over to their table and takes their order! I notice this. She also seems a little more talkative and friendly when dealing with them. With me it was more short and to the point, which is fine, but it’s clear it’s because I’m not Korean. For what it’s worth, I’m East Asian and could pass as Korean but I don’t know the language so maybe that’s a giveaway I’m not Korean.
Anyway, the bill is served. But the second I put the cash down, this SAME LADY is standing over the wall literally reaching for the bill. 🤣🤨 I am not kidding. I joked that she was “fast” and she smiled and laughed. So she was watching me take my $ out and the minute I set the bill down she’s ready!
I tipped but I probably won’t come back here. They really do need to work on hospitality, especially with non-Koreans. Like the atmosphere feels like they couldn’t be bothered to really interact with me. Just doing the bare minimum, and this was highlighted when the Koreans came in and the ladies greeted them and walked over to their table but with me they didn’t.
Shame because the BiBimBap was good but the customer service and hospitality is so lacking. It just felt like they wanted my money while doing the bare minimum. Especially the way the lady grabbed the money so fast over the wall. She needs a refresher on customer service...
Read moreThis was the worst experience of my life and I will not be going back. I went to O’sushi on a Saturday night with my sister to have a meal together. We did not expect our time to be so horrible.
I will start off by saying that their food is great and the menu includes some authentic Korean dishes. However, the low ratings are for the extremely poor service and disrespect towards customers. This was the 2nd time that I was chased down and harassed by the waitress for not leaving a tip. When I asked for a refill of the small side dishes, she glared at me and acted as if she was frustrated with the request. After watching her tend to a couple other tables with their dishes, she finally brought the side dishes and didn’t even respond back when we thanked her for the refill. Later, my sister asked for a refill of hot tea and again had an arrogant look on her face and never came back with a refill of the tea. Once we were done with our meal and got ready to pay, she chased us down and said “no tip”. I refused to tip after such a horrible experience but she came out of the store and came up to my car as I was getting ready to leave. I ended up giving her a tip, but I will never go back to this place again. If you are looking for good Korean food but don’t mind being treated with disrespect as a customer then this...
