Let's rate this review from start to finish... The initial walk in was really good, greeted and sat almost immediately. I guess Tuesday isn't quite a busy night, as there were many open tables, booths and bar type seatings. That's where things went a little slow on service, the girl who sat us asked what we wanted to drink. As we were giving our drink orders, she had to abruptly leave, when she came back she couldn't remember even one drink from our order, so we had to start all over. I have no idea where she had to run off to, but at least she came back.. After that ordering is always a bit humbug at this location because the iPads that they use to be able to take orders is attached to the table. When sitting on the outside part of the table, it is very inconvenient to have to reach over to look at the menu, they don't even have the regular laminated paper menus to look at. Aside from that, ordering stuff is usually pretty easy, select what you want and press the order button... Another thing that bothers me, is that you don't know what is in the sushi rolls, you just have to look at the picture and try to figure it out, and it's not like you can bring the iPad close to your face to examine the picture, you kind of just have to know... Another thing I noticed about genki is that a lot of their roll sushi is the same, but they just have different toppings, which I find a little bit strange, but I never really noticed before.. Also, after we ordered a few things, which you can only order 4 things at a time, but continuously if you wish, we were brought something we didn't order... We had to double check what we did order just in case someone accidently added it on.. but we didn't, and had to call the server back. Which there is a convenient button on the iPad. The girl promptly came back and took back the wrong order... But makes you wonder if they're paying attention... The sushi was good, rolls, sashimi, sukiyaki udon, french fries, poke bowl, and and nigiri, so overall food was good. But service was lacking a bit, we made a drink order through the iPad and it never came... We waited 10 mins...after we tried the service button... We tried it three times before someone came to check up on us. What was annoying about that situation, was that there were at least 5 to 6 girls standing by the drink station.... Overall food was good, but service brought the stars down...

Hard pass. Place and food is gross. You will leave sad like their logo. Food is not good, oddly expensive, and small portions. Do not get any nigiri - you need a lot of sauce or fried battery to cover up the low quality ingredients. Nothing we got we would ever eat again. Got the seasonal special roll even though it didn't say what's in it. Did not taste good. Our table had sticky stuff on the table and menus. Our bowls had bleach-smelling liquid in them, making the ginger and wasabi inedible. Conveyor belt had all sorts of stuff on it - crumbs, fries, etc. Servers aren't happy and whisper, you can barely hear them over the loud upbeat Christmas music. Our guy filled our waters twice before our food came out but not after that. Watch your ordering for errors. My husband ordered on his phone and then I did the same. But when I submitted it, it gave me a pop up notification with no words, I could only press OK. It wasn't showing in our cart on either phone so I submitted again. Then it showed up twice. Someone did finally come when we used the call button, a friendly guy that said he'd let the kitchen know the order was doubled. But the second order started coming out on the conveyor. Called someone over again and I guess they fixed it then. Didn't stay long enough to need to use the bathroom so don't have info on it.

FYI-The food ordered is 5 Star! The change in experience makes it 3 stars. We always look forward to coming here while on vacation every two years for the experience of watching the sushi on the conveyer belt it's a fun way to have dinner with the family. On our visit today when we were seated out server asked us "what we wanted to order?" That caught us by surprised since we came here for sushi on the conveyer belt. We said we wanted sushi but we were encouraged to place an order to get started. So we did. I recorded a video of over a full minute of empty conveyer belt. Good thing we ordered from the menu or we would have a choice of maybe 4 different items Family had a great time. As we were wrapping up our meal, we noticed a lot more options being sent down the belt. May come down to timing and if they make extras of whatever has been ordered by other guests. Run more sushi vs drinks down the belt and I'd rate it a 5 star.

Today was the first time back to Genki since the pandemic. It started off great as we were seated immediately, less people due to spaced seating. However that quickly went south when I called the server to turn on my iPad to order and was told that we’d have to share one. I’m guessing they didn’t want to have to clean as many. Not nice! I’m paying for this service! So I had to wait my turn and lean over someone’s food (because theirs naturally arrived before I got a chance to even view the menu) being that the iPad is anchored to the counter in front of us! Luckily it was family! Had I been sitting in that seat and others had to lean over me to see the menu and order would have been worse. Social distancing? It made the whole experience bad! Trying to order more items? Impossible, not wanting to lean over!! Worse the couple seated near us were allowed to use their own iPads! Then I had to ask a server to check on my udon, that I waited too long for! Drinks took just as long. We needed to ask for them! I wondered how this was happening with less than half the usual count of people in there being served!?! Our server was basically polite. He just seemed a little inexperienced. So I did not want to make his day bad by complaining to him, it probably wouldn’t have gone further than with him anyway! The food was good. My udon broth was hot, considering I waited so long for it! They must’ve changed the broth or forgot and just made it. I’m sure we’ll go back but I feel like we were not treated well. I’m paying the same as everyone else there! So all in all it was a very...

We tried dining in on Thursday, Oct 6, at around 4 pm and we were denied entry by the Manager/Supervisor in the black shirt, female, dark hair, because we had our service dog with us and she asked us for documentation for our service dog, which we did not have on hand. There was NO SIGN out posted out anywhere about no animals allowed either or that we had to bring in documentation for service dogs. So we had to wait outside with our hungry kids, while our brother drove back home to drop off our dog. So we waited for another 20-30 minutes until our brother returned so we could get seated. Only to get greeted with rude & slow service by our first female server, not even sure if she was our server because no one introduced themselves. She brought out a bunch of wrong items and barely checked on us. It was very empty & we had to constantly ring for help. We felt bad we had to keep asking this other nice server, male with glasses, who was the only one who was checking on us. He was great, everything else was terrible. I also know the tips here are PULLED and split, I felt uncomfortable and that its a rip off that our tip is going to undeserving staff who never bothered to check on us, when it should have all went to that one very nice male server, who was the only one who helped us this entire time. We dine there almost once a week and this was the worst...
