I have mixed feelings about this place. The food is either really good or just bland. The desserts are awesome, as always at any location. Customer service is what really needs work for most of the workers I've met at this location. I've always had a great experience at the Nimitz location. I've been going to the Kapolei one lately because it's closer to where I live now.
My boyfriend and I visit this La Tour before or after seeing a movie due to it being twenty feet away from the theater. We had a great time with one of the bartenders (a super nice guy with glasses whose name I forget) who made us awesome drinks based on Thanos' Infinity gauntlet while Endgame was out. However, after that great first visit, we've had awful customer service by the workers at the register in the cafe.
The first time was with a young guy who seemed like he didn't care to take our order, and ignored us for a good two to three minutes, despite us standing right at the front of the line with nobody else there. He was too busy talking to another worker and people in the kitchen, despite already seeing us. When he finally took our order, he didn't bother smiling or thanking us. It felt like we were inconveniencing him by giving the place business.
The second time, our most recent visit, a young girl with glasses who was leaning lazily over the register, helped us quickly but her unprofessional attitude was what put me off. My boyfriend was interested in trying the new things in the menu, and when he decided to order the new pepperoni hand crust, the cashier girl closed her eyes and started laughing quietly to herself as he ordered. After settling down, taking a good, LONG moment to do so, she finally said, "I'm sorry, we're all out of that." She then half heartedly apologized and recommended something similar, which turned out to not taste that good, according to my boyfriend. My eggplant parmesan panini was also bland. Despite the okay meals, we both thoroughly enjoyed the Kouign Amann, which has been great each time we've tried it.
I wish I had nicer things to say about the customer service but unfortunately, I've been let down more than once. Despite that, I'll continue to go back for the sake of the desserts and convenient location. However, I'm going to walk in next time with hopes that I won't get another bad taste from customer service.
Shout out to that nice bartender for the best service. 🤙 It sucks that some of his coworkers don't have...

I'm a big La Tour fan. I fell in love with the Phoggie at their Pearl City location. It was literally the best sandwich I have ever had in my life. So when I found out that one was right down the road from me, I had to try it out. SO we ventured out that way one Friday afternoon around 5pm.
My husband never had La Tours, but I always raved about it. He got the crunchy cheesesteak one and I of course got the Phoggie. We ordered the mac and cheese for our little one and of course 6 macarons to go. The cashier asked if I wanted fries or salad. I asked him if there was a price difference he said no. Since I was feeling a little naughty I got fries instead of salad.
Our food took a while to come out, much longer than it takes at their PC location during peak hours. My husband ordered his sandwich with fries. It came out with a salad. My fries were cold. No really... like cold as it has been sitting out for the past 2 hours or something. So I spoke with the server and she apologized and checked our receipts. She told me that I wasn't charged for fries and if I wanted fries, I had to pay for them. I told her what the cashier said, she went back and verified thats what he said and even though he admitted to saying that, they still charged me.
Our sandwiches sucked. What I think makes the Phoggie is the sauce. Thats what really gives it the pho taste. My bread was cold. It seemed like it was warmed and crusted before, but again... sat for 2 hours or something like that. My husbands sandwich was warm but was lacking in flavor.
Halfway into our sandwiches our fries finally came out.
The whole experience here sucked. Reliving this experience as I am writing it actually pains me.
The only thing that saves this place is the macarons. They were just as delicious and perfect as the other locations. My favorites are the pumpkin crunch (seasonal), salted caramel, strawberry cheesecake, blueberry cheesecake, and fruity pebbles. We have had the pineapple, mango, cookies and cream, and coffee as well and they were good too, just not as awesome as the other flavors.
At the end, the server brought a couple of extra macarons for "the inconvenience" but by then I was already soured. My food was wrong, I had to pay to fix it even though it was their fault, my food was COLD and lacked in comparison to its other stores. So, I wont be eating any sandwiches here ever again but will come back for...
Read more(I WONT BE BACK - reason at the end) I like this place. I have been here on multiple occasions throughout the years. I think the food is good (usually). The salads are yummy. I'm not the biggest fan of the fries, however my family members are upset that they don't sell the fish and chips anymore. It is a little pricey here. Also, I have never received outstanding customer service. The staff are usually conversing with each other which is fine but It would be nice if they treated each customer like they really wanted them there. Anyhow, as much as I don't want to do this because I live on an island and there aren't many options, I have to stop coming here. Even though all this time has passed since the "pandemic" began, they still don't take cash. I can't support a business that doesn't accept cash. The government is slowly creeping its way to control us with new bills coming into play. The only thing people can do to keep their privacy is to refuse to fund places that use hand scanning, card scanning, fingerprint, etc. technology. Please lmk if you ever start taking cash...
