Outstanding Food and Service While staying at Aulani, we chose Kalapwai Market in Kapolei for dinner on our final night in Hawaii. We didn't know much about the restaurant before we booked, but subsequently had a couple of great reviews from locals. Our server was extremely pleasant and helpful, guiding us through the menu and choices, reviewing specials, and giving us her take on the food. Kailey (?sp) had great energy and was very attentive without being intrusive. It was really 5 star level service. All of the food we had was excellent. The Sausage Seafood skillet that I had was infused with incredible creole flavors and perfectly done seafood. It was a flavor explosion. Fish and chips, Wagyu beef burger, garlic bread: all were top notch. We shared the warm chocolate cookie dessert and it was scrumptious. A good example of Kailey's service approach: she mentioned that they had a house made salted caramel gelato and we were tempted. When she described the cookie, we switched gears, but asked if she could put the gelato on, instead of the standard vanilla. No problem, done with a smile and delivered beautifully.
