Decided to stop by here after doing the pillbox hike and watching the sunset on the beach because we were hungry wow what a delicious reaturaunt with AMAZING food. Much more authentic and fresh food compared to Waikiki.
We’ve been here almost a week and it’s definitely the best food we’ve had our whole trip and I’ve been to Honolulu twice. My boyfriend said he could eat this all day and be happy and is exicited to eat the leftovers because it’s so good and so much food on a plate and unbeatable prices. SERIOUSLY TRY THEM OUT.
Sweet local family owned business that deserves all the love for their superb Hawaiian food.
Got the pick 2: loco moco curry katsu plate and garlic Mahi Mahi plate. The loco moco is yummy steak with yummy gravy. The curry katsu is delicious curry flavorings the way it should be with crispy fried katsu. The garlic Mahi Mahi is fried with yummy seasoning. The macaroni salad is fresh and really is just so yummy no weird bitterness just fresh homemade flavors really the right texture amaount of sauce and onions a delight for every bite.
They do takeout right now and there are tables and chairs outside but I’m happily eating in the car with my piping hot fresh meal that I am truly satisfied with. I can’t recommend them enough. I haven’t written many reviews for hawaii but I just had to share my experience with the world.
Definitely wanna try their saimin next time would recommend ordering it with your plates. Would order here and eat on the...
Read moreUpdate 2: we took our daughter and granddaughter here for mochiko chicken and garlic shrimps, and they also loved them. Today, I tried its garlic chicken and it was good also.
Update: it was so good that I returned a week later. Today I got the mochiko chicken again plus the garlic shrimps. It was excellent as the last time I was there. Of course, the best macaroni salad.
The quintessential of a hole in the wall eatery, but what great dishes it serves here. You can create your own 2-entry combos and I had the mochiko chicken (fried chicken using sweet rice batter) and grilled pork chop. Both entries were so good. Both were very tender and full of flavors. Mochiko fried chicken is very different than karaage chicken that is more widely served in Japanese restaurants. Mochiko chicken is even more tender than karaage and tasted a bit sweet (from mochi rice). A must try if you are in the area. The combo came with rice and macaroni salad. One prior reviewer noted that this place has the best Mac salad on the island. I can’t vouch that, but it was extremely good. The service was very friendly and quick You can sit either inside with AC or outside with a nice breeze. Highly recommend if you don’t mind seeing empty boxes stacked all over the...

I got the Combo H (spicy chicken, beef curry, and char siu w/ rice and Mac salad) my wife got the BBQ mix plate (BBQ short ribs cut thick almost 1/4 in, BBQ chicken, and teri beef w/rice and mac salad), and my daughter got the Teri beef burger (Teri beef and mayo on a soft bun) and fries.
The food was great! The Teri beef burger is a flavor bomb, and the fries are thick and crisp but fluffy and the right amount of salty.
The curry beef is tied for my #1. The spicy chicken is more fried chicken with a little spice, bit its a large bone in chicken thigh, and it's balanced with the meal. The char siu is flavorful but not super strong. The meat is the highlight of that dish.
The BBQ mix plate was extremely generous on portion size, same size chicken but boneless. The short ribs were thick, sweet, and juicy.
Last bit certainly not least, the highlight side is the standard settings Mac salad. It's cold, creamy, and refreshing. It's not over seasoned but goes with the meats very...
