The service was really bad, and the food was mediocre at best. Im pretty sure we were the only table that didnt have someone come by on a regular basis. When we were sat, the hostess for some reason removed one of the sets of chopsticks from our area, even though there were four of us. He seemed surprised when I asked for them back. My son and I sat without a drink for most of the time, and our waitress only came twice to see what we wanted to order that wasnt on the Conyer belt, and once we had to walk over to the waiter. The calamari was so dry and salty that in was almost inedible, but we ate it because they charge per plate of food left over, on top of the 45.00 per person. My daughter and I wanted cheesecake, we were brought out two nearly frozen pieces. I sliced mine thinly myself to even be able to eat it. There wasnt much variety coming along the belt, and the one overworked waitress clearly couldnt keep up with the amount of people inside. Honestly the sample I tried at Sams club last weekend was better than anything they...
Read moreFirst time eating here. I am a chef and this is entirely my own opinion. The sushi tasted good. But the pricing on them is unjustified. For just three rolls of nine pieces each, my total came out to $60 (including one small can of iced tea and the tip).
No ingredient in the sushi I ordered was unique. None of it justified the overpricing. $18 for their 'premium sushi' when it's just the plain, usual ingredients that you would find in normal sushi restaurants. I understand that the pandemic has most likely ruined profits for this business, but it's not a good reason to keep it overpriced by now.
Would I recommend this place to try for the first time? Maybe.
Would I recommend this place for you to visit normally or often? No. There are other places to visit for the same quality of sushi for cheaper.
Or, better yet, if you don't mind driving a bit further, bring your money to a sushi buffet such as Kats Sushi. Same quality sushi, but all you can eat with...
Read moreKazoku is a sushi restaurant with a conveyor belt which was not running when we went. There is a wait even for a Wednesday night so I recommend making reservations. The food here is bit on the expensive side, but it is REALLY good. The service was SUPER nice. They checked up on us several times while eating and everyone, including the chefs, said thank you when we left. Extra points.
I got the agedashi tofu and the zaru soba noodles. The agedashi tofu is fried tofu put in a savory soy sauce mixture. It was not overly fried, though don't let it sit too long or it'll get soggy. The zaru soba noodles came with the same sauce to dip the noodles into, though cold (since soba noodles are also served cold). The noodles along just have a slight wheaty taste, I think I prefer udon noodles. The portion sizes were pretty big for the noodles, I struggled a bit to finish...
