SushiMan Wahiawa — Restaurant in Oʻahu

My mom was craving Sushi really bad so me and the Husband bought SushiMan for her for Lunch today. I was told New Ownership took over in January, therefore, I would highly recommend ordering in person than over the phone, especially if your a first time customer. Avoids any miscommunication and you see exactly what you get as well, and, for repeat customers getting used to the New Menu and other changes. My family enjoys the sushi here. It’s convenient and prices are fair. Don’t let the outside fool you like some reviewers commented. Its a decent sushi spot and it got a 7/10 from my family so pretty good! The Hamachi was particularly outstanding to my mom and it was her new favorite. I unfortunately am allergic to seafood so I had the Teri Chicken Donburi which was just right for me. Chicken was cooked well with just the right amount of sweet teri sauce. Im not a huge SPAM fan but i will eat it teriyaki style and sliced thin, however the New SPAM Donburi is Cubed. Prefer the old style. But that’s just me. Probably fine for others that aren’t as picky as I am. Lol. Next time i will try the Chicken Katsu Donburi Bowl and the Vegetable Tempura. Looking...

Not the best picture I took but we were hungry and ready to eat! We had the unagi bento set and specialty bowl and it was both so good! Their dumplings and shrimp tempura( not in picture) were amazing too! It’s got the perfect crispy texture and very freshly made! Their sushi was very fresh and oh man the unagi was so soft without that fishy taste you get sometimes. I’m a bit picky with eel sauce because if it’s a bit too sweet then it ruins the experience for me but their unagi bento had the perfect amount of rice in ratio to unagi and the sauce! We have been going to Kapolei when we craved sushi but I think we found a closer spot we like more! My husband loves sushi, so we went to this place. The quality was great and price was definitely fair. The sushi was delicious. I don't really like fish but we got the poke bowl and I tried it and loved it! They give you an option between original, mild, and spicy. We chose spicy, and it was no joke, it really was spicy. It was habanero flavored. They put the spicy sauce on the bottom of the tray so the sushi sits on it, and it's the first thing that hits your tongue. Sooo good tho! The staff was very friendly too.
