I'm probably (ok, definitely) immature but i got a good laugh at the tshirts they sold (I had to buy one lol; at least as of when I got mine the women's cut tshirts were $17 and the men's were $15, fyi).

I tried the spring rolls with bbq chicken and the garlic shrimp pho and both were really tasty! I didn't get a picture of the spring rolls because I had just been walking around the beautiful botanical garden that's like a block away from this place (so i had worked up an appetite at that point) but they were fresh and light with really flavorful chicken and dipping sauce and a lovely fresh herb flavor. The pho (which i only got a picture of before i dressed it up with all the herbs and whatnot) was huuuuge, even for the small size (i could've happily split it; i ended up leaving like half uneaten because i couldn't eat another bite - so sad!). The broth was flavorful and light, there were plenty of shrimp in it, and plentiful toppings of the usual variety at the table. I kept sipping the broth long after i got too full to eat any more noodles.

The staff were really nice and attentive. The place itself has a bit of a hole-in-the-wall feel to it but those are usually the best places so don't let that dissuade you. We had a bit of a "cold snap" that week (60s and 70s lol) so a bowl of hot soup was apparently on everyone else's minds too (the place, already really small, was packed and had a 15-min wait). It was worth it, though. Please check this place out if you're in the area. Next on my wishlist is the...

Amount of food they give you is insane. Big portions are awesome and you can’t complain about it if the food is good but in this case it wasn’t because the flavors were off. I hate to be the person who wastes food so I normally eat it all or take things to-go but this is how much food my husband and I wasted. The broth was so bland that I asked for extra limes and squeezed at least 8 of them in which still didn’t taste right. We also got spring rolls which was so mushy inside and threw me off with the texture. Everything about this experience didn’t feel authentic. I honestly think the ratings for this restaurant is so high because most people living on/around base are not familiar with authentic Asian foods. Same goes for other Asian restaurants around base. It’s a trip but if you want something close to authentic Asian flavors, go out to town. Added an extra star because the waitress was very...

This is the worst Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to. The food was nothing close to Vietnamese food. We ordered chicken noodle soup, beef noodle soup, a plate of BBQ and lemongrass chicken rice and coconut tapioca and we liked none of them. The noodle broth was way too sweet, chicken in noodle tasted very old. For almost $11 for a bowl of beef noodles they barely gave us enough beef. The BBQ chicken's flavor was too strong and burnt. The tapioca was ok. The waitress wasn't very friendly, no greeting, no asking how the food was, no thank you and goodbye. After we asked for boxes to go, she gave us boxes then never came back with a check or anything. We realized that they had a cash machine so we went there to pay (good thing was we sat at the corner where we could see the machine or else we would have kept waiting). The place was small and dirty. We'll never come back (note: Im a Vietnamese...

It was ok. Be prepared to go into a hole in the wall. I have nothing against hole in the wall restaurants, sometimes those are the best ones.... however when you sit down and your not sure if your dishes are cleaned properly or the food was cooked and prepared in sanitary ways, that's when I have the problem. They brought out appetizer with no dishes to share with the table, spoons looked and felt nasty I asked for extra veggies in my phó and they brought it on the side (I think they forgot), the meatballs for the meatball phó had the texture of liver or something like that (squishy/spongey, yet firm). My husband had the steak one and his wasn't great either so I know it wasn't just me getting the wrong one. There are Phó restaurants all over the place, keep looking.
