Wok & Grill Express — Restaurant in Oʻahu

We like high end fancy Chinese restaurants. This is not one of them. 5 StAR rating from us! Not expensive. Small little place with a few tables. The nice lady speaks little English. Simply just point to what you want on the countertop menu. They immediately start preparing your order. Can hear and somewhat see them going to town on the woks and grill! Might have to wait a little while. It’s just the two of them in there. They pile the food on! Can barely close the lids. The plastic bag with the plates ends up with juices leaking into them. But that’s what we want right?!! Lots of good tasting gravy on our stir fry and dishes! They also make good roast pork and duck by the pound. It’s in the glass enclosure. Good taste and crispy skins! Not too much msg or things that don’t let you taste the pork and duck. We always get the beef with vegetables stir fry. Tons of many different vegetables and render beef in mellow gravy. Must be almost a dozen different tasty vegetable goodies in that piled on takeout tray. We get many meals out of one order. I like this little hole in the wall Chinese place. I grew up in NY city, the most diverse city in the states and I remember growing up as a kid I loved Asian food, mostly Japanese food. I’ve been searching for a place ever since I moved and here I am in Hawaii and I FOUND IT the place that reminds me of home and reminds me of Asian culture here at Wok & Grill Express. It can definitely use a little more work but maaan is the food amazing. As I , being in the army, travel a lot and work a lot. This place provides lots of food for a great price and not only does it give a lot of food, it also has good quality food. Gotta say, I was a little apprehensive about this place after looking at the reviews, but I took a chance and got it because I was too lazy to get take out from the other place and these guys have quickcuisine delivery.

Was actually pretty impressed with the food and it has the perfect "americanized chinese food" flavor I was looking for! We got orange chicken, sesame chicken, general zhous chicken, chicken katsu, sweet n' sour chicken, beef chow mein and some egg rolls (all pictured).
