My wife and I ate breakfast at IHOP this morning, and the food was delicious and the service was great!
The one glaring drawback was that the restaurant, especially the Men's Restroom was really uncomfortablly cold!
The waitress had just turned up the heat before we left the restaurant. Oh, well, at least someone else will be warmer now!!!
I'm a pastor whose last name happens to be Pope. I stopped to grab breakfast after church worship at Emmanuel UCC in Weldon Spring this past Sunday.
I was personally greeted by two hosts upon arrival, and I was promptly seated as soon as Gabriel, God's angel who was my host, found a clean booth for me to enjoy my meal.
In less than a minute, Sarah, my waitress, greeted me in a genuinely warm and friendly manner and gave me my setup and menu and took my drink order.
I wasn't quite ready to order when she came back to my table in a minute or two, so she patiently waited for me for a couple more minutes. She took my order and I received my hot and delicious food quickly, I'd say within 10 minutes.
I'm 66, and so I ordered the Senior 55 Breakfast Sampler plate, which consisted of 1 cooked-to-order egg (l ordered mine over medium), 1 sausage link, 1 bacon slice, 1 hashbrown patty, and 1 buttermilk pancake with butter and maple syrup. I ordered a glass of water to drink.
The quality of my food was excellent, and the portions were just right. My bill came to $8.09, and I paid for the meal with one of my three $10 IHOP gift cards that I received as a birthday gift in June.
I told Sarah that the change was hers because of her nice smile and her friendly and prompt service, and making sure that I was completly satisfied as a first-time customer at that IHOP restaurant.
I have two more IHOP gift cards, and I intend to return to this particular IHOP tomorrow morning for breakfast after picking up my wife at Lamberts International Airport from her one-week vacation in San Antonio, Texas, where she enjoyed her stay with her oldest son and his wife and their twins.
So, I will spend each of these $10 cards at this IHOP tomorrow because it's local, clean, staffed with great employees, and well managed! Oh, yes, if you're looking for a great place to work, then look no more--this IHOP is currently hiring! As not only a pastor but as a former career counselor and consultant, I highly...
Read moreOrdered the breakfast tacos However have issues with eggs and onions. Explained this to our waiter. After which he repeated back my order emphasizing my special order. However when my order arrived it had onions in it. Knowing that the wait staff at the Ihop. In O'FALLON can be very rude when you return food that was done wrong I decided I'd try and remove the onions from my tacos. When I came to the conclusion that there where way too many I handed my food over to the server. At which time he Explained my issue to the cooks and manger. The manager and other staff members decided that they would make fun of my request and said very loudly that I would get no peppers on my tacos just chicken and cheese. However I said I like peppers, just no onions or egg with my side being hashbrown. I d ordered it like that before with no problem. After which I saw one of them very harshly hit the side of the trash can with the plate that had the tacos on it. I told the server that this was very upsetting and that my husband and myself will not be returning to this location. At which time the manger offered me 20% off my order which just seemed like a insult and took no blame for what took place that I saw and heard . Trying to act as if they were merely mad at the server for messing up my order not me. Said they have elderly people with dietary issues come in all the time and even offer gluten options. I did however get the food fixed but the humiliation of how I felt cant be fixed. This however wasn't the 1st time I've had issues. I shouldn't have to explain that I have issues with onions or eggs . I've excused the treatment in the past because of the fact the restaurant...
Read moreWorst. Experience. EVER. I’ve been to some pretty cruddy restaurants, lol, and this one MAKES 1ST PLACE in ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL would never ever go there again. Sad, bc y husband and I used to love coming here late for some late night munchies. Never again. A) it took absolutely forever to even be greeted B) there was no music C) knowing its dead silent and awkward, the “host” or terribly manager, I think, seats the next people right behind us D) it’s FREEZING E) we finally get to place a drink order, and our food, after at minimum 20 minutes F) I ask for the food to just be to go bc we just decided to escape this terrible environment & eat in bed G) the sever says it’s already plated & I tell him it’s ok, we can box it up H) i ask him how much longer after another 30 minutes, he tells me just a minute I) it’s now been close to 45 minutes and he brings our food J) I tell the manager and the front desk as I’m laying how bad everything has been, in the nicest way possible. I told her I understand bring short staffed, but at least warn your guests when you KNOW the entire restaurant is in the weeds. K) she made an excuse for the music (it’s been down for months) & brushed off literally everything else and without an apology, tells me she’s giving me a discount. It went from $39 to $34. 😂😂😂 That’s not even why I expressed how miserable our little late night date experience was & she insults me with the LOUSIEST discount ever & no apology. Lol. Do not go here. Absolutely miserable. Hopefully the...
