So my mom asked me to go up and pick up some stickers we needed to finish a school project. So my brother and I went and found them then I went to look at the mason jars because I was thinking on buying one for a project in my room. While walking over there was a small shopping basket holder thing so I stepped over it and my brother stepped over it but got his foot caught and it fell under my foot which caused me to trip and one of the legs of t bent. So I got up and me and my brother were laughing because I always trip, this wasn't on purpose and I didn't mean to bend it but it happened. So my brother brought it into the isle with the mason jars so I could get it and then I would've bent it back to fix it. I'm not the type of person to just leave something that I messed up, and all that was needed was it to be bent back. My brother was still laughing and im sure anyone who saw me fall would've to. As I was looking at the mason jars the manager or a worker came up and in a stern voice said "were you the one who did this" and pointed to the basket holder. I said yes and before I could apologize and tell her id fix it she said "get out, you need to leave now." I was shocked because she didn't even see what had happened. She probably assumed I was goofing off and it broke because of that. She didn't even ask if I was ok from tripping, which I assume any other manager/worker would've. (I mean I certainly would've) I think it was extremely rude of her to assume that since I am a teenager that I was goofing off and being disruptive, why else would she have kicked us out? Things happen. I'm sure if my mom or an elderly person had tripped you would've handled that situation differently. My grandpa runs a company and he would've never handled a situation like that. I go to this store a lot and the employees are nice and the manager as well, but don't trip on anything they'll kick you out, can't imagine what would happen if you dropped something like a normal person does sometimes 😮. If you're the manager please respond, you never gave me the chance to apologize and offer to fix it. Thanks. Have...
Read moreWhile I love Michaels as a rule, I strongly dislike this particular location. There are a handful of very helpful employees, but the manager is beyond worthless as are several of his employees. You can be wondering the aisles for extended periods obviously searching for something and the MANAGER will purposely avoid eye contact and turn around if he sees you coming. He will leave an aisles if you come into it and are discussing with your co-shopper that you can't find something. HE IS WORTHLESS as far as customer service is concerned, and obviously he does not make it a priority with many of his workers. So very unlike the store on Zumbehl, where they are trying to help you and so friendly. My experiences at this location have turned me almost exclusively into a Hobby Lobby shopper. If I'm going to be out in the area of another Michaels location, I'll go to that store, but I really avoid the Hwy K location if at all possible, because I know I'll have to hunt down and beg for help from the manager and probably over half of the people who work there. There are only about three people who work there who should actually be working in retail. Too bad their efforts are buried under the apathy of...
Read morewent in a couple days ago and experienced the MEANEST old lady in my life. I needed to make a return and then purchase some other items and from the jump she was so incredibly rude and condescending. She told me that they couldn’t do an exchange which I don’t totally believe but you never know. I continued with the return and then buying the new items (which she did not like for some reason). she rolled her eyes at me countless times and when I was leaving she said here’s your receipt, don’t lose it in case you need to return more things. I know in text that isn’t awful but her tone was SO MEAN for literally no reason. I was being so nice the entire time and she was so incredibly rude. I have worked in customer service and even AT THIS MICHAELS and treating a customer like that is just ridiculous. I understand being stressed but oh my god , get a different job if you can’t handle it. I have never loved this michaels but now i kinda hope they go out of business. the chesterfield one is better anyway. I would be happy to provide more information on this devil woman...
