Friendly staff, large selection of pastries, breads, pies, and even some sandwiches. Over 40 varieties of donuts to choose from, at least 8 different breads, 5 different coffee cakes, 3 or 4 pies, some cookies and coffee too!
I had a savory sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich that was HUGE! I took a picture of it with the lid of my coffee cup to show just how big the sandwich was.
The sandwich was tasty. The sausage patty was bigger than some of the hamburger patties I've had! The bread was a a cheese roll and there was an aioli sauce that was mildly spicy. The spice level was so mild that I wouldn't have known if the lovely counter attendant didn't tell me it was spicy. If you don't like spicy foods you can ask them to hold the aioli sauce.
I made the mistake of eating in the Bakery at one of their tables. I say "mistake" with humor because I was staring at the donuts and pastries while eating my sandwich and just had to try a sweet!
After much deliberating over which of the many, mouth-watering choices, I selected the Apple Strudel.
It didn't look like the stereotypical strudel, but it tasted WONDERFUL! The pastry was light and flaky and the Apple filling was delicious.
My only regret is that my work hours prevent me from going to Chris' Bakery very often. Hmm, maybe that's a good thing for my weight!!
If you live in, or close to, Oak Harbor you should definitely check out...
Read moreI’m changing my review of this place from a year ago to which I gave 5 stars. The bakery recently changed locations, which is great. The food, the same, which is also great. The prices, not so much. I definitely want to support my local businesses, but the food has almost doubled in price. Blame it on inflation, but $4 for a plain croissant, then a flavored croissant is $3.75? Huh?? Some of the items don’t even have prices on them. I’ll return from time to time just because my wife loves this place, but it makes us reconsider our options when I think about dishing out over $20 for 4 pastries when calculating tax and tipping the new staff. I miss seeing the bakers themselves. Maybe they’re only hiding in the back...
Read moreI haven't been here in a while, felt out of place because I decided to make a return today and browse around early on a Saturday; they were swamped with customers but the moment I came in I was greeted, was able to ask questions and wasn't rushed. The young lady that helped me was so sweet. We got a few donuts and two bread (would definitely recommend the chocolate croissant to everyone, it was delicious). Their homemade bread is incredible, we got the French bread to go with our pasta and cant wait to try the cinnamon swirl bread tomorrow. We are looking forward to being returning customers and trying your chocolate pie. Thanks again for the wonderful experience even when you are at...
