WOW! I never would have expected this gem of an Italian restaurant in the South! We were greeted with a friendly smile and hello, taken to our table and the server said hello telling us she would be right back to get us started. The reason I point out all of the above is that this small but perfectly sized restaurant was almost full and very busy. While it was loud, I think that is due to the size and how close the tables are. But I also think it was because everyone was enjoying their food and great service. I server suggested some wine, appetizers and went over the specials for the evening which had me drooling. We got our drinks right away and a yummy basket of fresh rolls and butter, my only suggestion is maybe offering olive oil with this bread instead of butter. (Just a personal preference) I had a hard time trying to pick something off the menu and looked around at what other tables were eating to help me out. It all smelled and looked so good. After asking our server for recommendations (she was so helpful and just the way she described the food made my mouth water) I went with one of the specials. It was chicken, Italian sausage, red and green peppers, onions sautéed in a wine rosemary sauce over my choice of pasta. I was worried because it not a huge fan of peppers, but she assured me it was worth it. Our food came out in a decent amount of time and was all steaming hot and fresh! My husband had the chicken parmigiana and our friend had gnocchi with a creamy sauce with a little pesto and fresh mozzarella. It was all perfectly plated and presented. My dish was to die for and absolutely amazing, all of us loved our food and it was just perfect. I couldn’t stop eating my food because it was sooooooo good. At he end we were the only table left in the restaurant and were offered dessert. I was too full and it was suggested we get something to go which of course we did. It was a special chocolate Nutella cheese cake and it was so rich and creamy with a perfect amount of everything. Being from up North this restaurant is as good if not better then we could get in Boston. Prices were good, food and service were amazing!!! YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE OUT NO MATTER WHAT. Thank you to all the amazing staff and a great evening with a...

Castucci’s was such a wonderful experience!! My boyfriend and I are what we like to call “foodies” and we love finding small, local venues with special recipes. We’ve had our eye on this place the past few times we’ve been in the area and finally decided to give it a try. We called earlier in the day to get a reservation as someone had suggested. It’s a pretty small venue, so we also recommend the reservation. Our reservation was at 7:30pm and the hostess informed us they were just waiting on tables to be able to flip and seat us. We got to our seat and it had some breadsticks and olive oil/balsamic vinegar to dredge the bread. It was delicious!! We were promptly greeted by our server, Chris. He was very nice and polite and very knowledgeable about the menu items. We ordered drinks and my boyfriend stated it was the best Long Island Iced tea he had ever had. We were teetering on a few different items-and Chris was nice enough to bring a generous sample of the alfredo sauce for us to try, I will say it was the best I’ve ever had. We ultimately ordered the penne with vodka sauce and added grilled chicken, we also ordered spaghetti and meatballs. By this point we were able to try 3 different sauces and they were all hearty and phenomenal. We then ordered the tuxedo cake for dessert and it was SO delicious and not too rich as some can be. I took half my meal home and enjoyed the next day. The atmosphere was great, the staff are all very friendly and light-hearted. We complimented Chris on the way out, we were told just a few simple months ago he was the bus boy then had moved to server, so they were very happy to hear how well he was doing as a server! We highly recommend...

Friends brought us here last night (25 June 2023). I had not heard of this place at all. Glad our friends invited us out to dinner.

The building is small and parking is tight/limited. We had to wait to get a parking space. There were people waiting outside to get in. Must be a good place, I thought.

We had 6:30pm reservations and ended up waiting almost 30 minutes. My friend was told two tables had not been cleared as those guests had finished their meals but were just hanging out. Hey, if it's a packed place with people waiting with reservations, how about some courtesy and moving on?

Finally at our table, we ordered drinks. I had a tasty lemoncello martini. Their martini's are $14, al little on the pricey side, but very good. Other drinks that were ordered; a red wine, a Manhattan, and a dry martini. Everyone liked their drinks.

Fresh bread and butter was served.

For our meals, I had a special, a chicken sorrentino with proscuitto, sliced tomatoes, mozzarella and a light and flavorful marsala sauce; and angel hair pasta. Small Caesar salad too.

DH had the broccoli rabe with sliced sausage and penne pasta. Friends had the eggplant rollatini and Veal Sorrentino.

The food was fantastic! Big portions too. We all had leftovers! Yum!

Our server, sorry I forgot his name, was excellent. Despite every table being full, we didn't wait long at all for our drinks and food.

Overall, an excellent dinner with great service. I look forward to...

One of my new favorite places at Oak Island /Southport! It’s Castucci’s An Italian Joint! The staff was so friendly and the food was OUTSTANDING! We loved the penne vodka, chicken Parmesan, and the sausage and peppers with penne. They give each table bread with dipping oil. So good! Loved the pictures on the wall! Just an all around great atmosphere! You definitely need to call ahead for a reservation. Highly recommend! Like and follow for more recommendations.
