Food would be a 3.5 if it were an option.
This restaurant is in a great location in the center of the park right next to Stardust Racers. It’s a fantastically themed Astropub (play on the word Gastropub but it’s spacey) it features fun lighting, a decorated brick wall and a giant keg/brewing station for looks.
Despite having enough space to seat at least 100 people inside it was fairly quiet, or at least I wasn’t bothered by the noise. (I’m ADHD and lots of noise is hard for me to filter out)
It’s a hybrid quick/table service venue where you are seated and served at your table but your only interaction with the staff is during delivery to your seat. Be aware of what you need when they bring your food, they do not check on you but are always around and are willing to bring you what you need. I like this model because you aren’t pressured to move quickly and can easily take your time. The downside is that if there’s an issue it may take some time to get someone to resolve your issue.
The real knock here is the food. I got the chicken and waffle. The syrup was light on taste, the bacon jam was decent but I felt that it didn’t really hit on the chicken. The chicken was on the verge of being soggy. It was also very difficult to cut into. The waffle was out of this world and the jam was much better paired with that. The fries are lower than mid, but they’re decently priced.
In fact, the entire menu is spot on for pricing at a normal restaurant. The fact that this one is inside of a theme park gives it positive points.
Another big knock for this restaurant is the fact that you have to order through the Universal app and not every meal item has the option to...
Read moreMy party of two was initially asked to wait outside — which turned out to be less than 2–3 minutes, so that was a great start!
However, once we were seated, things got a bit confusing. No one explained how the ordering process worked, and we accidentally selected the wrong location — the Meteor pickup spot instead of the actual Astropub restaurant. Just a heads-up: the full menu is only available at the sit-down Astropub, not the pickup counter.
Thankfully, the experience took a major turn for the better thanks to Charlie, the manager. He’s genuinely one of the kindest and most respectful individuals I’ve come across. Charlie took the time to clearly explain everything to us and even brought the food out personally. That level of care and attention made all the difference.
As for the food — we ordered the chicken tenders and a bun-less burger with bacon and fries. Everything was hot, fresh, and quite tasty!
If it weren’t for Charlie, my impression of Meteor would’ve been very different. He turned a confusing start into a memorable, positive experience. Charlie, if you’re reading this — thank you again for taking such great care of us. Please keep...
Read moreAfter experiencing two separate situations that left us feeling uncomfortable and upset, dining at Meteor Astropub at Epic Universe was exactly the uplifting experience we needed. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth, kindness, and a level of service that truly went above and beyond.
Charlie and every team member we encountered treated us with genuine respect and care. Their attention to detail and effort to ensure we felt comfortable and appreciated made all the difference. It’s rare to say this, but this was the best service we’ve ever received.. not just in a theme park, but anywhere.
On top of that, the food was absolutely amazing. Every dish we tried was full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. You can tell real thought and quality go into the menu here, making the entire experience feel elevated and unforgettable.
We want to thank the entire Astropub team for turning our day around and showing us what true hospitality looks like. Your kindness and professionalism didn’t just make a meal memorable.. it made our whole experience feel valued. We can’t recommend this place enough, and we’ll...
