Hurts me to mark down this restaurant, as for the most part it is a wonderful experience. The food is good (especially recommend the "brainy" dessert!)
Staff was fantastic, the general decor and design were also to die for.
All of that can be overshadowed by one MAJOR issue... the audio profile of the seating hall. I'm in the restaurant right now, and was sat in one of the two side wings, which have arched ceilings.
I'm no audio engineer, but something about the current design seems to funnel absolutely all sound VERY loudly to the seats central to the arch.
Wasn't noticeable walking in, but hit a point that even I had to grab some headphones to drown out even people speaking loudly (let alone crying children)
Think natural amphitheater levels of sound carrying, I believe it may need a look to see if some more cosmetic elements could be introduced that would act as sound absorption!
Really though, still an experience I'd recommend, just hope you have ear protection if you're...
Read moreThis place is great for a quick sit-down meal while you're in the park. Once you come in, you are seated at an assigned table with a QR scan code and table number. You order through the app by scanning the QR number. Once an order is placed, you cannot move to another table, as your order will be delivered to the assigned table.
Food—We ordered a blood orange chicken hamburger. (Regular burger with dyed black bun (bun has no taste—just regular black color bun), fried chicken breast (similar to fried chicken breast you get at Chick-fil-A, not bad actually for the taste and size), coleslaw (tastes really good—adds moisture to the whole burger—without it, the burger is tasteless), and orange sauce on the side (sweet savory orange sauce for dipping your burger—the whole taste is in the sauce). Sides- Also, the burger is served with a side of fries (simple fried French fries with ketchup for dipping—honestly, nothing special about the fries). Overall, a...
Read moreAte at Das Stakehous for lunch while visiting Epic Universe. The atmosphere inside the place is really creepy, it gives off a dark, dungeonlike vibe. I had the Carved Staked Stake, and it was really good. For drinks, they have a Coke Freestyle machine, so you have lots of options. My friends had the burger which comes on a black bun. It looks really weird, but they said it was good. The mobile ordering is a bit confusing if you are ordering and eating inside. The servers all said creepy things to you when they bring you your order, which was kinda cool and funny. However, they was one poor older lady serving food that seemed really confused. She was a having trouble reading the table numbers in the dark lighting and was trying to give us someone else's food. I feel like Universal could find a better place for her to work that wouldn't be as stressful for her. Overall, it was a good...
