Jc's Cafe — Restaurant in Oakdale

We visited last Sunday for breakfast. The place was busy but they took our order quickly. We recognized and greeted the patrons behind us and in the booth across from us. They'd arrived before us and were awaiting their meals.

Fast forward 20 minutes. Our friends of nearby are still awaiting their meals. My wife has a glass of water but I'm still eagerly awaiting the arrival of my coffee.

Oh my. This is bad...really bad.

Plates were sitting on the pass through, getting cold. Where were the servers? The service was painfully slow. We couldn't wait and decided to head for the exits. It wasn't that busy--but they were that slow.

Lunch? Dinner? Ugh. We've tried to eat here several times for dinner. And the food wasn't good, not at all.

For the money, we'll hit a taco truck down the street for decent Mexican...

I actually went there yesterday for Christmas breakfast. I have never been there before and it was the only place open in Oakdale so we decided to try it. The service was good until our food came and a cockroach with it as well coming across the table on my food. Of course I panicked and the waitress came to see what was wrong. I killed it underneath the creamer , she came by cleaned it and said, Sorry! They could of made it right by redoing our food or taking care of it!!! We still paid!!! Needless to say I will never be back there again because of it and best believe I'm telling everybody I know not to go there...

Sadly, the waitress was so intensely rude. We did have a bunch of kids and a big party but there was only 2 other tables with two people in them each. I'm not even kidding. Plus, I was trying to be respectful and kind and de-escalate the situation which eventually worked. It was just an awkward place to be in when i am the consumer and she was the waitress. The food was good though!! And the people who owned the place were there and they were wonderful! I get it people have bad days. But it's your job. I've been there believe me, but we don't need nasty attitudes...
