We were passing by from San Francisco to LA. We stopped at another like chinese restaurant accross the street and they were very rude and unfriendly. Asked a nice lady if there qas any where else to eat. She pointed across the street. We went and THEY WERE SO FRINDLY. Very small place therefore, one table that was being used saw us 3 and offered the table while they were still eating. We accepted and they went to a smaller table. Every body was very nice and friendly. Wish we can come back but, it’s kind of far. Still, FOOD WAS VERY GOOD. Tuna sandwhich, big cheese burger, home made potatoes, hot chocolate, yummy…

These are very nice men that run this place. I ordered salmon croquettes, grits and eggs. I was surprised to not get toast with my breakfast, but I told myself that I didn’t need it anyway. The food was delicious but the croquettes were kinda cold in the middle. I ate it anyway. I ordered a salad to go but some of the baby spinach leaves look old and wilted and some wet. I would never serve anyone that for $8 and I ate the tomatoes and cucumbers and threw the rest away. Oh well, lesson learned. I would still encourage others to support this business.

oxtails were great, greans was good, no regular cornbread, and the macaroni was just ok rice and gravey was pretty good. price was a little high, French toast was good but i don't know if i want to pay $6 in the hood in a togo box. i am glad they are there and i will try something else also.

Update - Breakfast: It was weird, but I still liked it! The French toast was just toast with very little French (egg custard); somehow, it was still good. The eggs were seasoned perfectly. The sausage was fried perfectly. However, half the bacon was stuck together & under cooked. And they forgot my MF-ing grits. I almost limped down there to fight somebody, but I was placated by the breakfast potatoes which looked under seasoned but still tasted good.

Dinner: I really enjoyed my order! The chicken wings were good; I like them fried a tiny bit harder but that might have been a consequence of the condensation in the to-go box. The yams were good and hit the spot; I don’t have a refined enough palate to determine if they were canned or made fresh, but I loved every bite. The greens and the cornbread were the surprise hit; these were the best I’ve had out here - now, that bar is low, but the food was legitimately good.

I wound up ordering because I was craving grits. They put too much something in the grits. I don’t think it’s too much cheese, which another review assumed. I think it’s too much butter. They weren’t terrible; they just didn’t hit the spot.

The Mac & cheese was actively not good. No flavor at all. It tasted like what I would imagine hippie, west coast Mac & cheese would taste like.

Overall, I’m a fan and will be returning to try...

This is a new place, and I really wanted to like it. I called in to order, and theirbwas a little delay in ordering because the perdon taking order command of comprehension wasn't the veat. They said 20 minutes. I got there an hour later and they couldn't find the order. But first, the young ladybat the counter was doing something in her phone and didn't look up. I waited because I knew she saw me. I finally cleared my throat. She looked up and I gave my name. They couldn't find my order. There were no other customers. A man came over and I told him what I ordered. He picked up a bag that had two orders, and I said I had just one order. He took one out of the bag and said, "This must be it. They seemed disorganized. I ordered oxtails. They were covered in a lighter gravy. I like oxtails with their natural juices. I didnt enjoy them. The greens and Mac n cheese were decent.

They can do with custimerbservice. If you are going to have young people and family working in your business, they need to be taught customer...
