My mom recommended I try this place while I was visiting from out of town. Unfortunately, my experience with the service really put a damper on things.
I tried making small talk with who I later found out was the owner, but she was very short with me (couldn’t even give a polite chuckle at my jokes) .When it came time to order, after my mom order it came across as dismissive.
When I came back to ask for hot sauce, I was met with more snark. The owner said flatly, “We have a really hot habanero” Not “Do you like spicy stuff? Want to try it?” Nothing just quick response in a way that felt like I was bothering her. Then the chef chimed in, “Be careful what you ask for,” which sounded less like a playful warning and more like they wanted me to regret asking. Neither of them ever said thank you or showed basic hospitality.
The food itself was good, the habanero salsa was flavorful and spicy as expected, and the chicken sausage stood out as especially tasty. But the lack of warmth and courtesy overshadowed it.

Read moreThis spot is my absolute favorite. My family and I tried Cafe Noir again at its new location at the Prescott Market. The vibes and space is a lovely place to share a meal and enjoy a beautiful day. I absolutely love the owner. She is so nice, and down to earth. Before you even try the bomb food, you get this great customer service experience. As far as the food goes, it is upscale deliciousness in a chill setting. I left there satisfied and looking forward to my next meal at Cafe Noir. We had the Grains in Purgatory, shrimp and grits, banana bread French toast and sweet potato pancakes. Every dish was perfect and high quality. Get out and support Cafe Noir!!!!! Your taste buds will be tantalized...
Read moreAmending this review based on my latest experience. I was excited to bring my mom here and was disappointed by the food quality and service. The whipped cream on my pancakes was completely melted and I received feedback from the server about waiting too long to pick it up. I needed to be fairly assertive to get some fresh whipped cream. The hazelnuts were stale and chewy.
Jaw-dropping sweet potato pancakes. Topped with blueberry compote, toasted hazelnuts and homemade whipped cream. Run, don’t walk to try these! Quick and super...
