Noor Indian Fusion Kitchen — Restaurant in Oakland

From the start, this place was a mess. When we called to place an order, the girl on the phone asked for our name (which we carefully spelled out), then oddly asked if we were dining in or taking out, even though this location doesn’t have dine in service. She also asked how many people were eating, which again made no sense for a to go order.

When we arrived, there was no one to assist. After calling again multiple times, the same girl apologized and said our order “didn’t go through” and would need to be made now, which would take another 10 minutes. We waited, only for a worker to come out repeatedly calling out a completely different name. After the third time another person brought him back out and when I asked how he had a different name, he just didn't care. He did not apologize for what had transpired.

By the time we finally got our food, 45 minutes had passed and food was cold. The whole experience was chaotic, disorganized, and dismissive. I’ve never seen such poor service. Definitely won’t...

It was raining and I was craving samosa & chai so we got samosas as an appetizer, they were freshly made and crisp on the outside & the filling was hot and spicy inside. For our mains we got butter chicken with rice and garlic naan, it was delicious. The color of the butter chicken was so red I thought it would be crazy spicy but I guess that’s just the food coloring because it wasn’t. Topped dinner off with mango lassi- probably my favorite part of the whole meal. Thick, flavorful and decadent just the way I like it. We got food delivered through DoorDash and it was packed up really well, no leaks or spills. The samosas came with tamarind and mint coriander chutney. Honestly I'm obsessed with this place. After having lived in the UK for a decade and south Asia for a couple years I have prettttttyyyy high standards for Indian food. This place absolutely meets them and then some. Food is tasty, fresh, with high quality ingredients. And if you order directly they have excellent service and also a point system for freebies which works out great if you're a regular, I usually am able to order at least 1 item with points (ie free) so that's just great.
