This place is absolutely amazing! I don't even know where to start! So first off, it is very nice to find a restaurant that has its own parking. There is indoor and outdoor seating for dining. The day we went, there was only one lady doing all the work. She was super nice! She had multiple tables she was helping and delivery orders. She was not only the cook, but also the waitress, busser, dishwasher, and she worked the register and answered the phone. She really did it all.
Items were brought out at the perfect timing, as if this were a super fancy restaurant. So after ordering, the first thing brought out was cubed pickled dikon and a thinly sliced salad. The salad tasted like it had thousand island dressing on it. It was very crisp and fresh tasting. As we were about half way done with the salad, our side dish came out which was Corn and Cheese. Honestly, we did not know what to expect with it. It came out sizzling and was super delish. The corn was very sweet and had a nice crunch amongst the cheesy cheese. Our main dish then came out and was the Yang Nyum chicken. She had said she accidentally had some extra chicken made so she put it on our dish to try; our plate was delivered to the table with our Yang Nyum, 2 pieces of BBQ Chicken, and a couple pieces of Fried Chicken. Our main order was absolutely amazing! If you have never had Korean fried chicken before, this place is a must eat. The chicken has a nice crispy outside that holds the sauce very well. The inside is perfectly done while being nice, tender, and juicy. The fried chicken was the exact same, except had a honey mustard dipping sauce that was really good. The honey mustard dipped sauce tasted homemade. We also tried the BBQ chicken. It was boned in and very sweet and delicious. We would order any of these three chicken dishes again.
With the nice staff of one who could do it all, the nice decor, and absolutely amazing food, this is a place we definitely would go back to and reccomend to...
Read moreComing to this place was such a yummy treat throughout college! They used to only be open for dinner and late-night eats, but have since adjusted their hours to include lunch and the in-betweens. :)
I always ask for a half-and-half order of Garlic Soy and Sweet & Sour chicken. Their chicken goes real well with a side of rice (which would have to be ordered additionally), though I know many people just down the chicken on its own. Cheese corn, yogurt soju, and tteokbokki are other popular orders. Nowadays, I tend to call in (20 min. before!) and just grab chicken to-go. They're considerate to include a sizable plastic heat-sealed container of their pickled radish and another of their salad appetizers in to-go bags. Bringing food home is nice because you can make & eat your own rice in quiet comfort, haha.
However, their restaurant is a popular little spot to hang out with friends for dinner and after, too. They have their own parking lot, but you can also find parking on the streets if there's no vacancies. Expect a bit of a wait getting a table on most evenings if dining in-house (although there's sometimes surprising availability nowadays).
UPDATE: I found their chicken noticeably less flavorful the last time I ordered my usual. Not sure if it's a one-time fluke, but there was a lot more bland white meat on my chicken rather than the usual packed-to-bursting-in-flavor wings expected. The sauce flavor was right, but the choice of meat and saturation of flavors therein was...
Read moreUnable to fulfill via delivery service Door Dash. Total Bust. Don't think they are skilled enough to adjust to the pandemic. After almost an hour (50 minutes), they suddenly realize they have no rice and cannot fill the order. Restaurant said they cancelled it, but I find out they didn't when the unfortunate driver makes it to the restaurant to learn he has no business and wasted his time. Thankfully, he called me to let me know there was nothing coming to me as the DD app kept showing the status as being picked up. The pandemic is hard on many businesses and this one just isn't equipped to do delivery or manage its supply chaint to ensure it has primary ingredients. Food is probably great tasting per reviews, but major delivery services are not well supported so I'll have to hope this restaurant is around for an actual dine in meal one day...
