A Spicy Culinary Delight at Taava Kitchen
Located within Forage Kitchen on 25th Street in Oakland, Taava Kitchen offers a culinary experience that is nothing short of exceptional. With a solid 5 out of 5 rating, this shared kitchen space is the perfect destination for those craving quick bites infused with bold flavors.
During my visit to Taava Kitchen, I had the pleasure of indulging in their Chicken Tikka Naan, a dish that exceeded all expectations. The combination of tender chicken tikka nestled within warm naan bread was a true delight for the taste buds. For an extra kick, I opted to add jalapenos, further enhancing the dish's flavor profile and adding a satisfying level of heat.
Next on the menu was the Biryani, a classic Indian rice dish that did not disappoint. Opting for the lamb protein choice, which is halal-certified for those with dietary preferences, I was treated to a fragrant and aromatic medley of spices perfectly infused into the tender meat and fluffy rice. Paired with cooling raita, the biryani provided a harmonious balance of flavors that left me thoroughly satisfied.
Overall, my experience at Taava Kitchen was nothing short of exceptional. The quality of the food, coupled with the welcoming ambiance of the shared kitchen space, made for a memorable dining experience. Whether you're in the mood for a quick bite or craving a spicy culinary adventure, Taava Kitchen is sure to impress.

Read moreI wanted to give a higher score to this restaurant but the more I think about it I have to settle down for a 3 star. The potential is there but I, at the time I visited it, around 8 PM, did not experience it even though I was the only customer ordering my dinner as a take out. Here's the breakdown : Cleanines: the place was spanking clean! Front counter & Kitchen. The kitchen space is Huge and I want to believe that during day time it's potential is fully used. Setting area: By the counter there is none but they have what appear to be a nice enclosed Patio that I guess is open during day business. Ordering: Easy! Many options in the menu. Food: on the low side. I have to sayk that the flavor was bit shorter than I expected and I can't pinpoint if it was because lack of spices or just a different recipe from the ones I am used to. The good side is that you can see how they prepare your order because their kitchen is surrounded by glass panels. Ordering: Easy if you come toward the end of the business hours. Nobody ahead of me when I got there. I noticed though, on that night, many deliveries orders going out what may affect your orders speed. Service: on that I give 4 stars. Despite working on the closing process as soon as my order was placed the whole crew worked together to expedited it. Very good team work. I will definitely pay them another visit and confirm my if my assessment needs to be reviewed. Parking may be a challenge during business time cause it is located in a narrow street and...
Read moreOrdered from this spot for delivery through DoorDash. It was delivered promptly. Got food for dinner for me and my partner.
We shared the tandoori hot wings with jalapeno dip. We wanted something spicy and the jalapeno dip intrigued us. We were torn between the tandoori hot wings and regular tandoori chicken, but the pictures of the wings looked so good, we went with that. It did not disappoint! The chicken was crispy and had a slight kick. The star of the show was the delicious jalapeno ranch dip.
We also shared the original butter chicken with a garlic cilantro naan. The butter chicken was not too sweet bor salty, and the creaminess held up so well. It would've been great with rice too. The naan was hot and soft; there was a perfect amount of garlic on it. It was also huge so we were glad to have shared one since we had wings as an appetixer, although you can totally eat one on your own.
I'd recommend this...
