Extremely Disappointing Customer Service & Overcharge
I had an incredibly frustrating experience at Hardee’s the other morning. My order was completely incorrect, and the customer service I received was unacceptable.
I ordered three breakfast sandwiches but only received two (though I was only charged for two), and I ordered a large drink but was given a small one (and charged correctly for the small size). The biggest issue, however, was with my order of 10 apple pies. They were advertised as two for $1.50, which should have totaled $7.50, but I was charged $13.50 instead.
I was told there would be a 9-minute wait for the pies, which I understood. I paid for my order and received my sandwiches and drink while waiting, meaning my food got cold before I even received the pies. When the employee brought out my pies, I pointed out the overcharge. She took my receipt to the general manager, who sent her back with only 65 cents in change, insisting that was all I was owed.
I explained that I was overcharged by $6, but I was told I needed to go back through the drive-thru to discuss it. When I did, the manager, Yolanda, yelled at me from across the restaurant, telling me I would not block her drive-thru and that she didn’t owe me anything. I informed her that I was only following the instructions given to me by her employee, and she then demanded I come inside. After working a 12-hour shift, I was exhausted and refused to go inside, so she agreed to meet me out front.
When she came out, she claimed that her computer showed $13.50 for 10 pies, so that was the correct price. I pointed to the sign advertising two pies for $1.50, which clearly totaled $7.50, and even explained that, at the regular price of $1 per pie, the total still wouldn’t be $13.50. She refused to listen, repeatedly insisting that if the computer said $13.50, then that was the price, and I would not be getting a refund.
I then asked for the corporate number, and she claimed the location had no corporate office. At that point, I left and looked up the information to make this review.
This entire experience was beyond disappointing. Not only was I overcharged, but the way I was treated by the manager was unacceptable. Yelling at a customer, refusing to honor the advertised price, and then dismissing my request for a refund is unprofessional and dishonest. I will not be returning to this location, and I sincerely hope upper management takes action to correct these issues.
To support my claims, I have included a photograph of my receipt and a photograph of the sign on the building advertising the correct price. I hope this proof highlights the unfair treatment I received and helps prevent this from...
Read moreYour hours of operation say you are open until 8pm. I pull up to the drive through at 7:40pm to order dinner for my husband and I on my way home from work. I was greeted at the mic where you place your order. I went ahead with my first order, and then got no reply. I waited 5 minutes, still no reply. So, I drive up to the window. The girl at the counter obviously sees me but ignores me. I wait a couple more minutes before I pull around to order inside. When I walk inside to order I am greeted with the girl at the counter who was very displeased that I was there BEFORE close. I place my husband's order and she automatically gives me my total. I said "no, I would also like..", and proceeded with my order. I watched the same thing happen to two other people going through the drive through, not being answered, and coming in before close to place their order. The person after me was only getting an order of fries and still got attitude. The second person after me, was denied service BEFORE close. Then the girl in the back comes storming out and says, in front of everyone, "I'm done, I'm locking the doors". It's still not even 8pm at this time. Highly disappointed and won't be back. Very rude, entitled teenagers upset about doing what they get paid to do. Also, to the girl that took my order; your anti-eyebrow piercing is rejecting and looks horrible! No wonder you are...
Read moreSeems like a recurring theme here. Employees that can’t provide service. I never ordered today, was never acknowledged by the two women behind the counter. Instead, they continued to bag and take care of people in the drive thru. The man in front of me stood there for at least 10 minutes with no communication or acknowledgment from the women behind the counter. When I asked if we’d get service on this side, one woman put her back to me and continued bagging orders. What should have happened was, bag an order, take an order, bag an order, take an order. If one of these women is on drive thru and the other is on service counter, why were both only taking care of drive thru and bagging? I understand busy. I was in the industry for 14 years. You can’t handle busy if you don’t have a system in place, know how to communicate, have a sense of urgency, and have employees that don’t care. I will never be back. It’s not going to put a dent in a pocket, but I do see multiple reviews like mine. How long can a place stay in business if their employees keep running...
