Cuban Cafe in Flowery Branch (Oakwood) opened up shortly ago and they hit the Cuban sandwich spot!! I typically like to tag the locations but I don't see them on social media yet 🤔
Pictured here is their MEDIA NOCHE sandwich (roasted pork, smoked ham, swiss cheese, pickles and mustard) and their CROQUETTE sandwich along with a chicken and beef empanadas. Both empanadas pair up very well with their cilantro sauce but I preferred the chicken empanada, very flavorful. They also have a pink sauce available if that's what you prefer. Cuban sandwiches can sometimes suffer of dryness but not at this spot! Their roasted pork was so tender and juicy, it took care of that issue I normally find with these type of sandwiches. The bread was perfectly pressed and easy to eat. Some may think the sandwich is smaller than the usual Cuban sandwich but for 10 bucks, $12 if you elect to have a meal with a side and a drink, this is a delicious steal of a meal.
Their dining area is outside with some nice umbrellas and music (no indoor) so it may be difficult with this heat wave we've had lately but even with the heat, I was very happy. You'll get all your goodies in a big ol brown shopping bag so just place your order at the window, grab your drink and sit down for some good Cuban food! They do have a drivethru if you elect to skip the whole heat thing but why not pretend like it's just Cuban heat!! 😂
By the way... side of french fries, rice and plantains were all delicious although I wish I had cheese to go along with my platanos 😭

Read moreOn the 19 of February I purchased a roasted chicken leg quarter, yellow rice and an additional order of black beans because the meal only comes with one side. Anyway when I got home and looked at the meal I noticed an additional piece of chicken thigh and said to my self, oh they gave me extra chicken cool. I tasted the chicken and it was like bit into a piece of rubber. It tasted very old as if they couldn’t wait to get rid of it to an unsuspecting customer. I was sick to my stomach. I thought, no wonder they added an extra piece chicken. The rice and beans was stale. I had to dump it and wasted $15 and some change. I was very disappointed because a client of mine told me that their food was good. I called the restaurant and reported it to Angie. She stated she did not know the chicken was old but they will cook some fresh chicken and to pick it up in two hours. I told her I would pick up the food but I did not. I didn’t want them to spit in my food or contaminate it with other germs because I had complained. I have learned my lesson well and should have known better when I noticed that I was the only customer there. I wouldn’t recommend this place to eat. You can easily get food poisoning. And they had no customers. That...
Read moreAmazing amazing. Finally went by today, very easy to drive to even if it's off the main road. Drive through style which is fun!
As a fellow Cuban it's been so hard finding and authentic restaurant up north. This place was fabulous, run by real Spanish speakers ( if you know you know) I tried an assortment of staples. Tostones were amazing , fried perfect with salt and mojo dipping sauce. Maduros were juicy, sweet and perfect. Ropa vieja while not my mother's, was STILL perfectly seasoned , and cooked well. The yellow rice was incredible, thank you for making good rice! The croquetas brought back memories. What a great snack for all ages. The empanadas were the only thing that didn't hit 100% and it was simply a personal preference because I make the meat a little differently so we are used to my flavors. Still perfectly fried , still great amount of filling.
All in all, everyone should give this a try. In a state where Mexican food is so prevalent , I hope to see more people try Cuban food !...
