King Kong Milktea and Smoothie - Fusion Kitchen — Restaurant in Oakwood

Went there today because Bubble Bee's in Gainesville was too far. First of all, I was charged $8.70 for a large Thai Tea with Lychee Jelly. GOOD GRIEF!

Second of all, their "receipt" doesn't even have their name on it nor the amount I paid. But let's get back to the price. When I was given my milk tea, I asked how a $5.55 item got to be $8.70. The server told me it isn't $5.55 anymore, they just hadn't updated their sign. It is now $6.25. Well, I'd call that false advertising since there wasn't even a sign visible saying that the prices had changed. But let's do the math: $6.25 + .95 (she said that's how much it was to add lychee jelly). That's $7.20. Tax in Oakwood is 7%, so let's add .50 for a total of $7.70. She then asked for another dollar because I clarified with her that the lychee jelly wasn't instead of boba but in addition to it. But doesn't boba come in a Thai tea for $6.25 -- the menu shows it that way. I asked for that last dollar back and she did give it to me.

Third, the thing was more than half ICE! Never, anywhere, have I ever had more than a half dozen ice cubes in a Thai tea, so it certainly didn't occur to me to order less ice. These people are wearing the wrong kind of masks -- they should be black with eye holes cut out like bandits are supposed to wear!

Save yourselves $$$$ -- Go to Bubble Bee's in Gainesville. Better tea, nicer people, under $6 for the same thing last time I was there, and they have punch cards so you get one free...

I don't normally write online reviews, but I just HAD to rave about this place! Walking in, the decor is super cute and fun. The facility is spacious and welcoming for all guests. I had a rather large group with me, and we were all able to sit comfortably together and hang out.

I love how big and unique the menu was. There were a ton of drinks I never saw before in any other milk tea and juice places. I appreciated the variety and got super excited about trying new things. I got the Orange Tea Strawberry Peach, and it was the bomb! I'm not normally a huge fan of tea drinks, but the flavor profile looked appealing and it did not disappoint. Very fruity and refreshing, and for those just starting to try tea based drinks, this one's tea taste is subtle and easy to start with. 10/10 would definitely get it again!

Another great thing liked was the variety of snacks. The moment I saw them offering sakura mochi, I was sold. I ordered the sakura, lychee, mango, and blueberry mochi. The cashier was super nice to advise me to let the mochi sit for a few quick minutes to soften to enjoy them, and they were delicious! My boyfriend normally doesn't like to order sweets, but he raved about how much he loved the mochi.

I highly recommend this place! It's a super friendly and fun environment to chill out and enjoy a snack break, and even on the go, the drinks and snacks...

My wife and I really enjoy King Kong. From the minute you walk in the door you immediately feel like you've made the best decision of your life. The store has an immaculate environment. It's super clean! They are always fast with your order and always super friendly. I rarely ever make reviews about places, but I wanted to put this out there. I messaged them to ask if they had nutritional information about their drinks (they do not...yet). I figured I was talking to a bot, but I quickly realized it was a real person on the other end. I asked some very pointed questions about owning a franchise and was told that she would find out the answer and get back to me. I said thanks, thinking that would be the end of the conversation, very happy with my experience. She then wrote me again telling me all sorts of ways to make my drink more healthy. I'm really big on customer service, as I've been in the industry for a long time. I was really blown away and pleased with how much they went above and beyond.
