Our visit to the Chili's location near I-75 and Hwy 200 in Ocala was by far the worst overall dinning experience I've had in a very, very long time. The restaurant was 1/3 - 1/2 empty, with customers all being seated on one side of the restaurant. We were seated immediately, with no wait at all (it was 4:15pm). Our long booth could comfortably seat six, so our party of four had plenty of elbow room. Our waitress quickly arrived to take and bring our drink order and then take our meal orders. It was all downhill from there. My husband ordered the steak and chicken fajitas; my grandson ordered the chipotle chicken and waffles with an extra side of mashed potatoes; my mother ordered the half rack of baby back ribs, and I ordered the full rack and substituted the roasted street corn (which comes with the meal) for the roasted asparagus and tomatoes. Both of these sides are normally a $1.00 upcharge; however, the roasted street corn comes with the full rack of baby back ribs. I asked in advance if I could substitute the roasted street corn for the roasted asparagus and tomatoes and was told 'no problem'. I ordered sweet corn on the cob for my second side. About 30 minutes later, our waitress stopped by to refill our drinks (free refills), and to let us know our food should be put momentarily. Another 15 minutes goes by and our waitress again stops by to let us know they are just waiting on the ribs. About 10 minutes later a different waitress stops by to let us know our food will be out shortly and that they are so short staffed in the kitchen even the manager is helping to cook. I lost it. I asked whether the other two orders were ready and waiting under a heat lamp, to which she replied they were and was it ok to bring them out while we wait for the two rib orders. I asked her why have we been sitting here for an hour and not once did they say they didn't have ribs. She proceeded to say they weren't out of ribs, they were being cooked. I then told her that they take a few hours to slow cook, so how much longer would we have to wait now? She apologized and asked again about bringing out the other food, which has been sitting under a heat lamp for who knows how long....my husband is non-confrontational and said it would be ok to bring his fajitas out along with my grandson's chicken and waffles. I said I hoped they weren't cold. Funny thing, my husband's fajitas were brought out (not sizzling), and the table right next to us got their fajitas within 30 seconds and both platters were sizzling hot. Our rib orders came right out after that. What a disappointment. Only three pieces of asparagus and three cherry tomatoes; corn on the cob was like warm and my two half racks (not a full rack) of baby back ribs were also like warm, not hot as one would have expected having been just cooked. My mother's ribs were only luke warm as well. The manager did come over to apologize for the extended wait and asked how everything was, so I told him. He offered to reheat our meals to which I said no thanks, I've waited long enough already. He said he would adjust the bill and asked if there was anything else he could do to make it right. I believe I told him it was too late. He apologized again and again said he would adjust the bill. When the bill came, it was adjusted for two amounts that didn't correspond to anything we ordered but did amount to the cost of both rib meals. There was an extra charge for the asparagus substitution where there shouldn't have been. I asked our waitress how to use my $10 egift card which she just adjusted the bill. When checking out using the Ziosk, it would accept my $50 gift card eventhough I tried twice, so our waitress again had to adjust the bill. We couldn't even get the bill paid without incident. Overall a very bad experience...won't be back to...
Read moreMy husband and I went there at night and only the Bar area was open. We hadn't ate so we decided to give it a try. There was only One waiter and a bartender. The waiter was having to clean the tables quickly, and then seat more people as the others left. He was also the only one taking people's orders and waiting on customers. The Bar tender was in a corner behind the bar slowly trying to look busy, but wasn't waiting on many customers. We ordered a sample platter with 3 different items on it and also some wings. Manager was walking around looking mad. The manager was not checking on anyone or helping out. We received our food and the Wings were delicious, and the cheese sticks were good. The egg roll was ok but cold. The 2 little burger that came with the sampler were to our surprise RAW!!! We sent them back and proceeded to try to eat what was ok. We had to drink water because we were told they had no Tea. The water tasted like dishwater, so it was not drinkable!! The best part of the meal was the wings. We waited for the bill a long time and never received it till my husband walked over and ask the Waiter about it. He said that we hadn't received our hamburgers yet and told my husband if using a card he could pay at the table. We never received a statement of our bill but proceeded to pay at the table. After we was ready to leave he came out with the burgers in a take out box!! We had told him we didn't want them earlier but he bought it anyways. We open the box and they were still not cooked right. I hope the next time we decide to go that they will have things together a little better. I must say that the wings...
Read morewhen we came in we had to wait a few minutes before we were even greeted. seating was by the bar only, which was fine, they have booths and tables there as well as sitting at stools at the bar. we were seated and told our server would be there shortly. it took a while before the lady who seated us to come back, noticed we had no drinks and realized no one had come to our table. she got our drinks( that also took a long time) and said someone would be by shortly to take our order. by time she came back(same lady) my mother and I were ready to pay for our drinks and leave) we chose to stay and ordered. the food was good, prices are a little high but the brisket quesadilla was worth it. ( I've never seen them anywhere else) my mother ordered two steaks cooked the same way( one was to go). one steak was over cooked And the other was under cooked. they remade one as she said she would eat the other..the loaded fries tasted burnt and were kind of hard... it was taking so long to get our check I just paid on the tablet thing at the table. finally I stopped the lady cleaning a table and asked for our server to come over to speak with her to get a receipt and give her a tip. my mother only wanted to give her $5 on almost a $100 bill. she believes tips are earned by service and not by how much you spend. service was extremely slow.. the only that saved this review from one star was the brisket quesadilla. will not be coming back here. also the moment I sat at our table I felt dirty and gross and immediately wanted to...
