Im a UF grad student. Ive visited every single bar in gainesville. If you have reviewed any gainesville bar youd would know that start with like then dislike then abstract. My crew has been several times and i was surprised that this place wasnt more crowded every single tie ive went which was surprising. We went went a very large crowd usualy 12 people + which was genrally 25% of the bars night population for the night and we went on two holidays. The good part is the beer is good and the and cheap good. The service is slow, they seem to be more responsive to friends then random customer which is fine, but pretty annoying when the bar is empty and all you want is one beer. The bad, after 20% and terrible service the bar still EXPECTED better tips...higher then 20% even. Its crazy that a bar expected a higher tip revenue from each individual. The abstract: good beer but the bar service sucks and has extreme high expectations for their customers. There are better bars around the area with similar experiences. Just go elsewhere unless you wanna drink cheap and dont care what the bar...
Read moreGreat beer, lots of taps. We visited after a day trip to Ocala for some biking and were craving some local beer. We walked in, we were 3 of 7 people in there and sat at the bar... And waited patiently for the bartender to finish his conversation with 2 patrons he seemed to know. When one of our party asked what IPAs were on, he said none... When our party asked what would be on the hoppy and bitter side he literally said none... Gave zero recommendations or information on the beer selection. I personally love the raspberry wit so I was easy but the bartender never came back to ask about our selection or the taste or anything. Once our glasses were empty, he found the time to stroll away from his convo and his own beer to clear our glasses and give our check. I give a detailed account because we run a bar and I would be furious if my staff treated customers like they did not care about them. It was the worst tip we have ever left a fellow bartender... We carried infinite in our own bar and would put it as far to say that this would have an impact on...
Read moreNot a great brewery town, but Infinite is my favorite brewery in Ocala (head N to G'ville or SE to Sanford for a much better brewery scene). Excellent selection of brews (Tropical Galaxy and Witfinite in its several varieties are delicious), great people, great merch, and a very cool space, right off of the Square in Ocala. Definitely worth a detour off of I-75!!
UPDATE: Infinite is distilling now! Bring your non-beer friends next time!
UPDATE 2: Stop by in December for a small but delicious selection of Xmas brews! And December also means we are only a month or so from Infinite's big move to the old fire station at Tuscawilla Park!
UPDATE 3: New joint is now open in the new Midtown Station, along with several food vendors, but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE keep the OG Infinite location open too!...
