Very beautiful well maintained and entertainment at every corner. Walk around the park and enjoy the wildlife (feeding the animals is not advised), play catch or watch baseball games in progress (grade school kids and above), play or watch tennis, play or watch basketball at the double courts, let the kids enjoy a large and fun playgrounds (canopies above) and swing sets, listen to music events at the pavilion area, or bring the kids to the discovery centers. There is a beautiful brightly colored bridge on a walking path going all the way around the park. And at night 3 colored water fountains become the main attraction of the park. They keep the lights at the park on for at least an hour after sunset in the summertime (10pmish) and have bathrooms available to the public located in between the discovery center and baseball field. Water fountains are in the playground are, but as they are public I suggest you bring your own water. Nobody wears masks, so heads up if you have concerns for covid to bring sanitizer and face covering if there is a large crowd. This is my favorite park it is very beautiful please don't feed the ducks it can make them sick. Please dispose of any fishing line properly! (in designated trash containments specifically for fishing line that can be found all around the pond.) And please do not litter, Florida is literally a tropical paradise, let's keep it clean not just for people but the animals who are indigenous to our beautiful state. God bless I hope you enjoy the most beautiful place in my neighborhood! Safety score from 1 to 10 1 being unsafe and 10 being safe I would give it a 10 during the day and an 8 after dark. Stay...
Read moreWell, I give it three stars because overall it is a nice park to walk your dog......I am used to beautiful parks with lakes and told this basically was the only park that had a lake with birds near downtown Ocala...The first time I went...wasn't bad...pretty egrets around, sculptures, but noticed the water looked quite dirty by the playground...Walked around the lake, saw a couple of people with backpacks hanging out... ...Parks as I always stated are notorious for all activity. drugs, homeless, etc.....Went again, wasn't too bad, but couldn't get a bench to sit down, not many there and noticed some homeless people, more than the last time...Ok...Wasn't comfortable, but again, it didn't seem too bad...Went again and this time. forget it!!...looked really run down and dirty...Actually was afraid of some of the homeless in there or whatever they are...It really seemed trashy....This time very uncomfortable...Do not see any park workers....Do not see anybody that could possibly overlook the clean up of the park, nothing... lived near a park where the worker's were always cleaning and keeping an eye on things..Kept beautiful. Homeless were not allowed to hang out on benches or pavilion's....really beautiful park.......You cannot control everything, there were car break ins there, even though it was beautiful and huge.....Well, .what else is new...it's a...
Read moreThis used to be the nicest park in town. But whenever the city updated it and made it bigger with updated playground with more variety.. They apparently NEVER took into consideration just how HOT it is in Florida (10 months outta the year.) The plastic slides and swings are so hot the kids burn the back of their legs unable to enjoy any of it until sun down. There is 1 blue cover that "partially" covers the jungle gym and slide playing area. And then NOTHING protecting the toddlers playing area. Plus the amount of drug addicts, drug dealers, prostitution and homeless people wandering around has tripled in the past 10 years it's just not how it was when I would go to Tuscawilla Park as a child. I think the loitering and suspicious activity could be WAY BETTER controlled by city Police officers and Park and...
